159/McAfee Secure

Some of you have noticed that a forum member with the username 159 has been checking out your profiles.

There is nothing to worry about; 159 is not a real person. The 159 profile was opened by Admin for use by McAfee Security so that they could visit the forum as a member with various levels of access (AO member, Medio Member, Premio Member), search for problems specifically related to forum access and security and report back to Admin. Admin then have a limited amount of time to fix any errors.

The result of this service is that the site is now almost entirely PCI compliant - an amazing feat for a forum.

Up until today not even the Mod Team were aware of the true identity of 159 and dealt with the threads related to 'him' as they would for any other member. 159 has now changed name to McAfee Secure to make you aware of exactly who 'he' is.

McAfee Secure will not be an interactive forum member and as such will not post in the forum, respond to PM or IM messages.

Admin have asked me to forward their apologies for any confusion the existence of 159 has caused.

Thanks

PG

I totally agree but we already had this account in invisible mode and thought that was going to be enough but as Julie has stated, please accept our apologies for any confusion.

There's about as much chance of my forum being PCI compliant as there is me becoming the next King of Spain

Well enjoyed my encounter with McAfee Security, I'm running all sorts of McAfee protection stuff and thought it had been checking my 'forum activity' without me asking it too.

Glad it's all cleared up now, does this mean we (AO) gets a big thumbs up from McAfee Site Advisor?

Just turned on the SA buttons.....AO is now deemed 'secure' and tested daily to prevent identity theft.

Thanks to the IT team at AO, I now have one site to 'browse' in safety.

Just to add AO is McAfee Secure.......eBay UK is listed as trusted, a level less!

...if wishes were fishes, we'd all cast nets...

We are certified as secure by McAfee because we have worked hard at it, especially Geoff. However until the process has fully completed, we had opted not to display the McAfee secure logo.

Thanks also for the appreciation Milowokie .
