I haven't won anything in my years membership though

......... I guess you need to enter the competitions first
Mine says Feb 2018

you should be going through your dealer, ringing Alfa direct
Been there, done that, no joy. Guess you could say frustration is getting the better of me! That's it from me - over and out!

Sorry but I am not even sure I understand the issue you re having? Are you demanding free of charge tyres for your GT? Or did I miss something else? Please be more specific/detailed so I can try to help you with your frustration.

I'm not demanding free tyres but would have been happy with a contribution. See here:

Thanks for the link Trouty,

I can safely say that if I had given a customer a problem, I would want to own that problem and deal with it and I know that Alfa Romeo and other AO traders already do this. The issue I suspect is that too many people try things on (not suggesting that you are as you are quite adamant) so how can they be sure they are not opening up the floodgates by helping with tyre costs, you must understand that. However, if it was something that could be proven such as a steering rack was faulty etc then I am sure that we wouldn't be talking right now. (Although it is good to talk)

I can also assure you that I would never have invited any trade or friendly partner to the AO web site if I thought it had potential to harm members or the site itself. Its important for traders to listen to members issues but listening and doing nothing is totally pointless and all parties agree there is no point in doing that, but we also accept we may not solve them all! If we have solved one issue, we have made a difference to that person, but like anything in life, we need to build on the relationships at both ends to see improvements on both sides.

AO doesn't want to and obviously cannot replace the std systems that companies have in place for reporting issues or customer service related details, however AO will always be a place where members can come to let off factual steam and also locate independant solutions but without sounding like granny telling you how to suck eggs bud, perhaps if you write in a less hot headed manner it will help aid your situation? Obviously this is just my opinion after reading some of your responses.

I hope I have helped to dampen the frustration feeling by at least a percent, however I am sure you will soon let me know

Ian

Thanks Ian, I can assure you that my letters to Alfa UK have not been as "emotional" as my responses on this site, but even that has got me absolutely nowhere. What leaves a bitter taste is how I've defended the marque with friends and colleagues about how the network, dealers etc are improving but when it comes time for help for me, none is forthcoming. A look at the car would tell anyone it is looked after. Dealer even told me to drive it harder as I was sooting up the EGR and glazing the brakes.

Time to draw a line under this now I think and move on. I know where I stand regarding Alfa "support" Once again, thanks for your response Ian

Well as some of you may (or may not) be aware I've had a 'few' problems with my (946) Spider in the almost 2 years of ownership.

After speaking to some top bloke called Ian, I got into contact with ARUK Customer Services. After an initial phonecall to voice my initial issues and get a case number within a day or so I recieved a call from a very nice lady who listened to all the problems I've had with the car (mainly to do with the roof and passenger window) and said she'd get back to me with how ARUK could compensate me and hopefully improve my faith in the car and the brand. Well to the exact day she'd said I'd recieve a call back from her I have. ARUK have offered me something as compensation, I won't say here but I will say I am very impressed by the speed of reply I recieved from ARUK and what I've been offered without any need for prompting from myself.

now fingers crossed can we please have a nice summer

i'm off home now ... time to put that roof down

Trouble is we normally only hear when it doesnt work out or they do make a mistake, we need to hear about good stuff also to get an even balance.

Agree, have only had a very positive dealer response whenever any issue encountered.

Its really good to hear direct from Alfa HO and that they are prepared to engage in dialogue with customers on this great forum.
