a) I don't have 'UP' arrows in my boxes.
b) That still leaves headers which take up space on the right hand side of the page.

Is it possible to remove them completely?

ok but I was hoping we could shrink them from left to right.

Like the look of the new site, tabs at top look good, but I agree the shrinking of the text in the main panel is a bit of a shame - I too have a small laptop.

Neither do I - possibly because I'm using Firefox?

I don't have them on my version of firefox (3.6) or Internet Explorer.

Is it related to user status?

This is a bit of a moot point as really a minimize from left to right is what some people seem to want.

The sidebar block 'collapse' feature is an 'extra' that AO Club Members have. It requires 'javascript enabled' within the browser (usually default) and is cookie based (so it remembers if they are collapsed or not).

Staff also have this feature for several reasons but mainly because if there is an issue with any dynamic functionality, they can witness the problem and help resolve it as they have access to the same functions.

The point of these arrow buttons is really to 'group' the most used 'blocks' at the top of the page by minimizing the least used 'blocks'

We have been looking at the possibilty of a 'left, right' collapse function for AO Club Members but we'll have to see how that goes.

I hope this makes things a little clearer.

Would certainly like that Mr Jeff as it would be very helpful on a small laptop like mine.

Interesting point and one I've never really had and issue with considering the fact that all threads are indexed in Google anyway and probably 90% of members have a FB account as well.

Out of interest though, is there a way to remove the buttons for linking to these sites?

I've noticed that some members have them removed but I can't find any settings in my profile page to allow/disallow the function?

Can they be removed by request or do you have to live with them?

Like I said, I'm not fussed either way but other members might want the option to be able to remove them and others have apparently had them removed, then it would make sense for all members to have a equal footing

Please, please, please remove the blinking message that appears when posting a new thread. The one I'm referring to is under the title area and says "Message: Help others to find your thread by using descriptive titles."

While that may be a helpful suggestion to some the flashing really drives me batty.

Maybe it's software related. I'm running an older version of FF with Javascript turned off.

I'm not a fan of the lost space on the right hand side of the screen but I'm getting used to it

Overall, I like the look and the the tie up with Alfa is a major coup

Sorry, I love this site but am disappointed with 3/4 layout. It's a wasted space and makes the site look silly.
