iphone friendly layout idea?

Evening, not sure it's of any significance, but i'm finding myself visiting the forum from my iphone a bit more these days, but it's a pain to use on a little screen - is there any way to format the forum to display specifically for the iphone when it detects the browser type?

That'd be amazing! Does anyone else use their mobile to access the site?

Re: iphone friendly layout idea?

I use my iphone to access the site as well, but only to read rather than post. There's an option in your profile for PDAs and mobile, but be careful as I don't know how to switch it back once it has been selected!!

**EDIT**
Yes I do, just tried it and to reset it you have to access your profile options again and choose to reset the fields.

Re: iphone friendly layout idea?

I find that the iphone gets rather unhappy with all the animated smilies when replying to a post (although it's fine with Quick Reply).

Re: iphone friendly layout idea?

you just have I double click on the iPhone for drop downs. Search function doesn't work. I use it 90% of the time for looking at AO. Find it fine in landscape mode. You just have to pitch and zoom in to browse.

Re: iphone friendly layout idea?

Maybe a reduce function version or less javascript. That would improve the browsing. I find it ok when looking at the last 24 hrs list as there is less variable content to display.

NO don't change anything!

The full version works just great on my iPod.

iPhoney "optimised" websites annoy the ****
out of me.

The whole idea of having touch Safari is
to be able to experience the full webpages.

Otherwise get a normal phone and run Opera
mini or the WAP site.

thought I was the only one, clearly not! I just meant bigger buttons and stuff to stop me doing accidental things.. Such a clever little device though!
