Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

My 1994 Spider is missing. It's an official Alfa with 1994 registration even though it was produced in May 1993.

Classicgal Check 1966-1993 Guilia Spider ?
guessing this started with the Duetto ( Boat back ) this was Guilia based(105) series.

CG . Found this on Wiki;
"A limited edition Spider Commemorative Edition was produced for the North American market in 1993 and was badged as a 1994 model. Each of the 190 Spider CEs imported to the United States had a small plaque affixed to the dashboard that identified which of the 190 cars it was.[2] The CEs differed from previous Spiders in that they had a special badge on the nose, a "CE" script badge below the "Spider Veloce" badge on the tail, unique gold center caps on the "phonedial" 15" wheels, and burled wood interior trim. Each model came with a leather portfolio, numbered keychain, and documentation. The cars followed the VIN sequence 008276 to 008460, although there does not appear to be any systematic order numbering. It appears that all of the 1994 Spider Commemorative Editions were produced in May 1993 ?"
is yours one of these May '93 ones.
All the best.

Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

I am missing several Alfas, like the
1962-1965 Giulia Spider
1963-1965 Giulia Sprint Speciale
1965-1966 Giulia GTC
1969-1972 Junior Z

BTW I wouldn't call the 1966-1993 a Giulia Spider, because the Giulia Spider was another model. Just Spider is better.

Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

After trawling the net and many Alfista books, I went to the original source. This is supplied by Arese. There will be many " specials" and carrozziere models that were created using Alfa underpinnings, and not be listed as "official" models.

Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

I don't think you can call the Giulia Spider (10,341 units built), the Giulia Sprint Speciale (1,400 units built), Giulia GTC (1,000 units built) and Junior Z (1,510 units built) 'unofficial' models.

And you can't consider them part of other models either: The Giulia Spider is hardly a Giulia saloon, is it?

Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

Sorry but these are the models Alfa claim as their own, I'll send you the lists / emails if you don't believe me . The Junior Z was definitely built by Zagato ( I lived in Turin then ), have you tried matching panels on one!

I know, but that has nothing to do with it. A lot of models were not built by Alfa. The SZ/RZ were also built by Zagato. And several models were made by pininfarina like the GTV, 916 Spider and 946 Spider. Even the 166 wasn't built in an Alfa factory.

Re: The Definitive Alfa Model List.

Personally I agree, Touring made some superb cars that also failed to make the list.. BUT these are the cars Alfa claim as their own. I tried very hard to draw up a list of all the models, finally I felt the only way was to ask " the horses mouth " for a definitive list, as always it took a bit of push and shove but this is their in-house bible. The guy that finally came up with this was Eddie McDonagh,ARUK Customer Care Team :00800 2532 0000. based in Arese. ( he is a genuinely nice & helpful guy ) . The post war list ( identical ) was confirmed by Joel Mensah, of the Cloverleaf Club.
