Well done to Ian and the team for getting the site working again

May I ask how much the new hardware cost you?

Ian, well done getting it going. It seems to me that somehow you could do with less data, not easy to sift out the less important.

The error above indicates that the particular memory allocation is 25 bits. 32 megabytes. I do data recoveries (particularly bad sectors) in a small way, and have no experience on servers, but it does seem a bit (or two) low, and error trapping missed it.

Glad to have you back.

Help Re: Server planned downtime Thursday 19th Feb 2009

If anyone encounters errors on any part of the site please e-mail james@uh-hosting.co.uk (I am the host for the site and the guy who did the migration).

The gallery upload issue is resolved. PHP memory limit also increased.

Inevitably when moving a large site issues will always crop up, as the new server is running a newer OS version, newer Apache, PHP, MySQL etc, so the configuration compared to the old server will be different and need tweaking.

Any plans to remove the 100-post limit on searches?

Re: Server planned downtime Thursday 19th Feb 2009

Whilst you're fiddling with things, may I make a request please Ian?

On my Nokia I run Opera Mini Browser, but it always defaults to the 'mobile' skin theme, which is crap - is it possible you can disable it? Most modern phones are more than capable of displaying the Modern theme skin (I think, I'm only going from phones that I have used).
