So... are we getting any closer to restoring the 500 post limit on searches?

That would be nice, esp catching up 12 hours of manic postings, and turn the Intros back on.

We already have 250 search results back from the dreaded 100, we will install the google search engine too to help out with more results in the mean time.

OK, as of tonight I got 250. That's an improvement - it got me 11 hours worth of posts. But not the "last 24 hours" which is what the search is actually called.

What?

It was down again for a long while... so it seemed at my end...

What happened to the nice little screen telling us something was up and we needed to wait for a certain period or summat?

Re: The official AO problem discussion thread :p

Thought that also earlier but not too bad

I've had the smilie problem for a few days now but hadn't got around to posting to see if anyone else was having problems ( also using another PC at the moment so that might be the problem )

Re: The official AO problem discussion thread :p

Since the recent upgrade I have been experiencing error messages
very regularly and the last couple of days I have been thrown off
more than once per day

Are these teething problems or is there a real problem with the upgrade?

I've been on the site a fair bit since the upgrade and have not experienced a single problem (running iE6, Safari and Firefox).

Re: The official AO problem discussion thread :p

The most common error message is '400 Bad Report' or words to that
effect. This happens several times a day. I was chucked off about an
hour ago today and this happened yesterday and the day before.

Quite often the site grinds almost to a halt. When it does I close down
the tab it's on and then reopen and access the site again. It then
seems to free itself. I am using IE7 on Vista.

The only error we are aware of is when someone deletes a thread and then clicks the link in an email update or a cached page, because the thread no longer exists, it should punch up a page that says "This page has expired, been deleted etc..." but currently and randomly it does not show the page and will give a raw database error, try cleaning/deleting your internet cookies (which you should do anyway IMO) and let us know if that helps. Without going into garbage speak I am interested to see if you both use the same ISP, also Mitch what are your computer stats please? ISP, browser and version, OS...

Thanks for letting us know.

Ian

It happens to me too but not as often as reported by Gibbo. Some days more, some days not at all and I tend to use CCleaner to clear down everything, cookies, cache pages, forms, temp files, etc.

PlusNet, IE7, Vista (Business).
