National Motorsport

I know we have an international motorsport section but what about a national motorsport section? There are a few people on here who race in various series for alfa, rally and others, maybe a good way for them to keep interested parties updated on progress or issues? Also maybe a good place to encourage others to start with such hobbies when they see how little these things can be done for?

Just a thought

Re: National Motorsport

I think that's a very good idea, there are at least two of us on this forum that have been preparing Alfas for racing on a professional level(very succesfolly if i may add)for many years.

Re: National Motorsport

Theres also two of us on here that race 250 National class Karts so hopefully Ian will see this and consider (he did kind of bring up the subject with me a while ago so not really my idea, but maybe this might remind him)

The other Karter on here won the 250 South West Championship in 2008 so at least one of us is competitive

Re: National Motorsport

I've been involved with motorsport for nigh-on 40 years, mainly rallying up to International level, but in the last year been lured into the funny roundy-roundy circuit racing world...albeit in a Porsche 944 Turbo. But I keep thinking of preparing a 155 or 156 for some track action, and still intend to prepare one of my Guilias for some historic action...so I'm happy with anything that encourages others to get involved. Not too sure with the comment "how little things can be done for" tho....

Rafe, if you raise a support ticket suggesting this I'm sure Admin will get on to it

Re: National Motorsport

Sounds a great idea.
But as my home circuit is Croft, we shall see if the south based racing series organisers want to bother for a couple of times a year

Well maybe not for you guys but thankfully for me (and my bank manager) our kind of racing can certainly be done relatively cheaply

I dont really want to raise a ticket cos then i'm kind of pushing the idea, its not really a demand, more of a possible suggestion

I'm not a racer, but I think it's a good idea!

...I'm heavily involved in motor sport as a marshal!

Re: National Motorsport

I second that!!!! In terms of how little it can be done for I agree actually. Unless you have to pay someone else to do the labour!! check out the thread on the arca forum for building a class E car in arca scroll down to racing click on it and its the first non sticky thread. Its a step by step guide including prices of parts. Alfa Romeo Motorsport Forum by alfaracer.com

Re: National Motorsport

We would certainly be happy to create a section for this, but we would need a new motorsport savvy person/moderator to post up news link etc. Please PM if you are interested in controlling this section, it would be great to get the ARCA guys talking here too!

Re: National Motorsport

Hi Ian, Any more thoughts/progress on this idea? As the race seasons are starting it would be a good place for us all to post vids, pics and questions regarding regs etc that others in the same situation may have already come across

ok ok, its just that we all want to show off our machinery and .....ahem....prowess on the track
