Re: Insurance really that high!

Hopefully the a new Mito at 6E insurance group will come in a lot lower than the 1200 for a year old 159 or the £800 for a Mini cooper.I am hoping for somewhere near the £500 mark .Is it worth getting a letter from my company explaining i have not claimed on their insurance ?

Re: Insurance really that high!

Been playing around on various comparison sites, and put my girlfriend on .Came back with a more reasonable £600-800 for 1 year old 159 1.9 diesel and £700 for a new Mini Cooper .Mito is a lower grade than the cooper at 6E so the dream is not dead .Also sat waiting new company list comes out next week somene at head office may have had a Epiphany and decided Alfa's are the way forward

I was with Direct Line for Years, then I get a quote from Tesco's Insurance, and I've never got a better price off anyone since, been with them about 8 Years now, and can't speak highly enough about them. Might be worth giving them a try !!!!!!......

Im with elephant £550 for 10 month bonus accelerator, im 24 with 4 years no claims protected and its parked on a busy road.
I switch between elephant and diamond every year, they won't price match as they as the same company but they beat each other every year by a decent amount.

The insurance renewal for my sons Golf 1.4 came through from Elephant 2 weeks ago. 720 last lear had risen to 780 for the coming year, although he has just passed the 25 year old threshold. I called my usual (Alfa) insurer, who quoted me 480, after quizzing me in great detail and saying I must have missed some important details out.
Another thing I didn't like with Elephant is that the renewal we got is AUTOMATICALLY renewed unless you cancel it before the expiry date.
Credit to them though, they did call me after I cancelled it asking why, and offered to search around for a better quote. I politely suggested they should have done this BEFORE they sent out my renewal.

Re: Insurance really that high!

Well I'm 23, only one year NCB as was on Mothers policy before that, no accidents in past 3 years, no endorsements. On a 147 GTA 3.2 stored in a garage, with my Mum insured as a named driver inc. commuting and personal use with Bell. Just over £900 which seems very good - (all other quotes received were well over 2K!)
