Threads locking up

This could just be down to the crappy internet at work.
I keep having issues whereby a particular thread will not open, locking up my IE. I have to close and re-open IE in order to continue browsing AO. But once this has happened with a thread, I will not be able to open that thread from then on at work. (At least for the rest of that day, not sure whether I've tried the threads agin later than that.)

Current culprit is this one:
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/way-o...-any-more.html

Which is pretty annoying, since it's my own thread.

I have cleared cookies and internet files, and still no luck.

Re: Threads locking up

The server is running at 0.30 of 4.0 there really should not be any issue with the server, I hope it improves for you soon.

Re: Threads locking up

Could someone post something in that thread, to see if it makes any difference to whether I can access it?

Re: Threads locking up

I had problems with my old PC last evening!: I had intended to ask Ant about a fix or something, but unfortunately he had signed off .: I do seem to get a problem or two occasionally, on AO, from time to time?: Not to Worry. :

Re: Threads locking up

And the latest thread to decide I can't open it is this one:
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/inter...ed-to-3rd.html
Which is bloody annoying, because it's the main thread I was following last night.
And Bigfoot has just told everyone to post in that thread instead of the F1 one which I could open.

Re: Threads locking up

Having checked, all of these mentioned threads still refuse to open and require me to close down IE in order to continue.

Is it possible that IE is the culprit?

Re: Threads locking up

Try persuading your work IT people to let you use Firefox or Seamonkey, on the basis of better security, if they don't care about performance.

If they don't want to do that, and are still using IE6 (possibly the worst browser in the history of the Internet) then try and persuade them at least to upgrade to IE7.
