Warning Server down time today - Very Positive

We just signed up for a new server and its already been fitted today

At approx 1:30-2:15pm today we swapped over to our new server, this server will help us power our way forward.

We just signed up for another year ahead of the club renewals for the Quad core Intel server with an additional 6 gigabytes of DDR2 ram taking us to 8 gig This is our third upgrade in one year, we could never do that without your financial support, this server is a bit of a milestone for us. I am well impressed.

Anyhow for the non technical minded... It should be much faster at peak times and more green/efficient.

For the technical minded, dribble away...

45nm Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5400 series and Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5200 series platforms
Using the industry's first 45nm based processors, the breakthrough performance, energy efficiency & reliability of 2-socket quad-core and dual-core Intel® Xeon® processor-based server systems make them the best-in-class choice for virtualization and business-critical applications, enabling IT to become more efficient and responsive.

Second generation quad-core with 45nm process technology
50% larger L2 cache delivers more performance for mainstream 2P servers in the same platform
Dual independent buses at up to 1600 MHz
FBDIMM memory technology providing greater throughput and reliability
Intel® Virtualization Technology Flex Migration assist enables expanding compatibility pools
Intel® 64-bit architecture±
Power-optimized quad-core processors as low as 50W
Power-optimized dual-core processors as low as 40W

That shoud help us going from a Dual proccessor

Well, not quite as I pasted much of that in from Intel. But this might possibly quantify your remark.
