Testing area

I was thinking it would be nice to have a testing area for people to practice their attatchments, pictures etc. This would be a good place to get some help with specific posting issues, if needed, or just a spot to try out picture posting.

I have practised these things by preparing what I think I need to Post and then do a preview which, I hope, shows what the Post will look like. Then simply use the Browser " back " button so that the Post is never actually submitted. Seems to work for me or am I missing something ? Perhaps a FYI Guidance Post would help ?

The thing I had most trouble with was deleting images posted by me, I did eventually find out how but it took a while !

Am I correct in thinking that you cannot delete your own Post ? I know you can go back and edit but the actual " slot " your Post was in still remains, embarrassing if you have made a fool of yourself !

I do think that some sort of FYI Post would help though, particularly for those not used to Forums, and I include myself in this category. I am a member of about 4 and really active in one only, AO. Sorry fellow AO' ers for inflicting myself on the rest of you !

I respectfully disagree with this idea to be honest - seems a bit unnecessary to me. If you need to 'practise', you can click the 'preview post' button to see how your message will come out before submitting it to a thread.

Of course maybe that's just me being impatient with less computer-literate folk...

Taking into consideration the preview buttons, I have thought about this for a long time now and I could make a practice lounge that is only visible to newbies, say up to 10 posts but of course mods too would be able to view it, but then that just tells me some better instructions are needed but will people read them? (I guess not)

I do not think it would hurt to have a lounge such as this however I certainly would not want idle chit chat in there, so we could make it so no one but the author can reply to his/her own thread.

You still following? I am more than willing to impliment this at the same time I am adding the new regional lounge.
