1984 1.5 Alfa Sprint For Sale - offers
Alfa Romeo Sprint 1.5 (the car in my avator)
1984 South African import and on a Q plate - all fully registered in the UK, they put it on a Q plate because at the time of import they couldn't prove the date of manufacture. Had been standing for a little while before I bought it earlier this year.
Bodywork
Structurally very sound thanks to the south african weather! starting to bubble up a little on the door bottoms and front wing, a couple of other areas will also need attention but all minor work. I do have a spare set of fibreglass wings available as well. Nearside door hinges need attention and the rear hatch struts need replacing. Colour is Sapphire(?) blue, which I think really suits the car.
Mechanically
1.5 engine runs very well but cars need setting up properly. I had to change the exhaust back box and refurbish the brakes, have also fitted a couple of new tyres.
Interior
In reasonable condition. Unusual wheel and period radion, all electrics worked ok today (it amazed me too!)
Front seats and door cards have been replaced at some point - but to my mind they don't look right as whoever did it fitted the black/green greencloverleaf seats into a brown dash and carpet interior - which even for an eighties car looks odd !
History.
I've only owned the car for a few months and treated it as a light restoration and temporary diversion from another sud resto and a vw camper restoration. I dont really have the space to keep it and my missus cant (yet) be persuaded to use it as her daily driver, so I thought I'd put it on here to see if there is any interest. I have the V5 and its registered in my name.
Taking it for an MoT this week so the car will (fingers crossed) be sold with a 12 month ticket.
