*** CAR NOW SOLD ***
Hey guys,
Due to the massive price drop in the GTV V6’s I am selling my 2.0 TS GTV and upgrading to the V6 beast instead

This is one of the main reasons I bought the car to be fair, as a tester to see if I liked the GTV enough to go out and buy a V6 version.
Details of the car are as follows:
1997 (P plate)
Atolli Metallic Blue
MOT until 22nd April 2009 (9 ½ Months)
TAX until 30th September (3 Months)
Recent Service (21st April 2008)
Full Service History (All Alfa Dealer and Alfa Specialist)
135,500 Miles on the Clock
(Located in Bristol, Bradley Stoke)
£1250 ONO
In the last 6 months the following work has been carried out:
New front and rear pads and discs
New radiator
New Exhaust
New Battery
New Alternator
Air Con Regas
A new clutch was also fitted just under 12 months ago, meaning that along with the above the car drives absolutely spot on.
I am the 5th owner of the car now. The previous owner of the car owned it for 3 years after buying it from his sister in-law who owned it for 4 years. She bought it with 36,000 miles on the clock in October 2001, he bought it from her with 75,000 miles on the clock in 2005.
I’ve owned the car for little over a month now and it really has been fantastic to both own and drive, the mileage might seem a little high but the previous owner lived in Bristol but commuted every day to Gloucester. I have been commuting myself in the car back and forth to work every day (A 25 mile round trip) and have put around 1000 miles on the clock.
The car comes fairly ‘fully loaded’ as they say with the Lusso pack. As far as I am aware this consists of the following:
Black Leather Seats (Alfa Logo embossed)/ Leather Trim Panels
Air Con
Power Steering
Electric Windows
Remote Central Locking
Alarm and Immobiliser
ABS
Driver and Passenger Airbags
Tilt Steering Wheel
Space Saver Tyre (In original bag)
Tool Kit (In original Box)
Locking Wheel nut set (In original Box)
Safety Triangle (In original box)
The car comes with 4 keys and 2 remote locking fobs. (Brown programming key included) It also comes with both of the grey dealer book packs which consists of all of the owners manuals (Radio, Car etc) as well as the history book for the car (Fully stamped). The radio code card is in there as well although the original stereo has been removed and an aftermarket one put in its place.
The stereo that the car came with was an aftermarket one as far as I am aware, it was a plain Clarion FM/AM Radio with Tape Deck. It was awful to be honest so I had it replaced with a TEVION CD player which also comes with USB slot, SD card slot and iPod port for your MP3 player. It’s black in colour and goes very well with the black retro styling of the GTV’s interior.
The previous owner changed the standard 15” pepper pot styled wheels to the Phase 2 16” Tele-styled wheels which run with 205/50/16’s. The wheels are in great condition. He also changed the front grill to that of a Phase 2 as well. These modifications are very subtle and merely make the car look a few years newer than it actually is as well as making it look a lot better too.
The car is in great condition, and although there are a few minor marks here and there the overall condition of the car is very good. There is a scuff about 3” across on the rear bumper, and a slight scrape mark on the rear NS wheel arch, as well as a few touched-up stone chips on the bonnet and some light scratches here and there. (Any noticeable defects have been photographed and posted below) As I say though, these are me being merely picky and any slight marks are eradicated by the rest of the cars beauty. It really is in great condition though not even taking into account both the age and mileage.
The interior is pretty much spotless with the only obvious wear being to the drivers side seat bolster which does have a small tear in it. I will try and get this repaired to the best of my ability before hand though, being black leather any repair will be hardly noticeable.
The engine and mechanics are all superb with every last switch and button in the cabin doing exactly what it should as well as what’s under the hood doing exactly what it should. Everything on this GTV from the electric aerial to the door card under lights works exactly as it should do.
The engine sounds nice and has a nice meaty sound to it when revved which accompanies all Twin Spark engines, and with all of the work that’s been carried out this GTV should go on for a very long time. It uses no oil at all and never misses a beat.
Being the Phase 1 GTV at heart, it comes with the 150BHP powerplant, which kicks out a top speed of an apparent 137MPH (I’m too scared to try!) and a 0-60MPH time of little over 8 seconds.
I’ve been getting around 400 miles to a tank but my commutes are not very long (11 miles maximum each way) and if driven extremely sensibly there’s no reason this car couldn’t give 500 miles to a full tank. The mileage I’m getting has worked out to high 20’s / Early 30’s MPG.
The cambelt was changed a few years ago back in 2006 when the car had about 110,000 on the clock by Duncan Slade of Alfanet in Bristol. Of course with all Alfa’s cambelts are sensitive issues so it might be ideal to get it changed once again at it’s next service which is due in April next year. I have gotten a quote off of Duncan for the cambelt, tensioner, variator and waterpump change and he has said it will come to around the £450 marker.
Considering all of the other work though that has been carried out this should be the only work required for the next 4 years or so, until the deadly cambelt requires yet another change,
The GTV has been great fun to own and drive and served me well into deciding if I want to shell out the extra money for the V6 version (Which I do!

)
With it’s sports car looks and handling it really is an incredible car, and when taken out on the motorway it will shock you. It's bloody quick!
I did worry I wouldn’t fit properly when buying it (Being just over 6 foot tall and 14 ½ stone!) but considering it is a sports Coupe it is pretty big inside and roomy enough for myself and another passenger to be seated comfortably without banging heads or knee's.
It will be a shame to get rid of the car but I’m craving that growling V6. Maybe not so much the fuel bill though,

Ideally the sale of this GTV will fund my next so I am looking to sell ASAP. I think the car is well worth the asking price but all serious offers would be considered.
All viewings and test drives are extremely welcome and recommended, although I do work until 6.30PM Mon-Fri. So viewings are available any time after 7PM weekdays and any time at the weekends.
If you require any more information or additional pictures please don’t hesitate to get in touch as I’d be happy to answer any questions and post any further pictures.
