ok, my car is a metallic burgundy 20 valve turbo coupe. it is '98 r reg, has had three previous owners..(only two drivers tho, it was an nhs lease car, then the doctor whom it was leased too bought it from the lease co., then a fiat technician..or mechanic as i like to call them!!!)
bodily its in above average condition i would say, no scrapes or scrathes although the doors do have a few wee ripples as is the norm with these cars..paint not broken, and only visible from looking directly down the flanks. there is one stone chip on the bonnet and a tiny fingernail sized bit of lacquer off the roof. the wheels were refurbed by the cars previous owner and are in very good condition. tyres are good all round.
the interior of the car is, again, above average i would say. full black leather, 6 cd changer, air con..(needs re-gassed)...original 20vt mats. lovely place to sit!!!
the car has covered higher miles at 118k, but read on. it has a full service history, had its belts done at 75k, has had the manifold upgrade, had a new turbo fitted in 2000/2001. it is turnkey reliable and still pulls like a train. the best bit about this car is the fact that i have just spent a grand of my own hard earned on it. yes, this car has JUST had its belts done less than three thousand miles ago. as the engine was coming out anyway, i decided to go to town on it, so the list of work is as follows...
timing belt kit inc. tensioners
new clutch
new waterpump
new thermostat
new radiator
new rear wheel bearing
oil and filter change
this work was all done less than three thousand miles ago, and i have receipts for all the bits, purchased from the excellent alternative autos, and a receipt for the work done. the car is, barring disaster, as 'future proof' a coupe as your likely to find!!!
the car is mot till sept and is also taxed . only bad point i can think of, other than those i have already listed, is that the abs light is on..i dont know if this is just a sensor or signifies anything more serious, but its only fair to mention it as i am aware any interested parties may be coming a long way to see the car.
price???...no messing around, i want as near to £2500 for the car as i can get..thats exactly what it owes me. i genuinely love the car and im in an enviable position at the moment where i can keep it if no one is interested, its just that it is a very selfish toy to keep...im looking to go over to a honda insight, audi a2tdi or smart roadster, something that salves my hippie mentality re: environmental impact...that said, the big coupe can achieve 35mpg without to much problem, and averages around 28mpg driving 'enthusiastically'..
the car is bog standard and original throughout except for a stainless exhaust from the cat back. it has never been chipped, lowered or kitted..(not that im being derogatory about cars that have, i just like my cars standard...) its owners have all been mature, responsible people. i can email pics to anyone interested but here are a few to be going on with..
as stated, £2500..a fair price for a car in this condition with ALL the coupes usual weaknesses just sorted???... you may buy a cheaper coop initially but might have to spend a grand or so on it at some point....mine needs nothing... pm me or call george on 07854952873
