Hi Guys...
The time has come for me to move onto pastures new (car wise that is!) and for me to somewhat reluctantly say goodbye to my trusty 164
But, this is only because I should be picking up my new 156 V6 Q-System Auto Lusso next week!
I've had the 164 for approx 18 months now, having spent some considerable time looking for a good one. (there are lots of rough ones out there!)
I found this one just outside Edinburgh and flew up there to pick it up.
The previous owner had lavished thousands on her (over 5k!) in the time that he owned her. He'd initially only got her as a stop-gap while he was awaiting delivery of his new V6 159.
Overall, she is in very good condition, inside and out.
Bodywork wise, the only real blemishes are on the bumpers. There's some flaking paint on the front bumper and a scuff on the rear bumper, nearside.
The interior trim is in excellent condition and all electrics work!
She currently has just under 82k on the clock
The aircon is nice and cold, and there's a remote control Panasonic stereo with 6 CD auto changer in the boot.
The other good bits include:
-A professional engine rebuild (by previous owners garage) including, of course, a new water pump, timing belt and pulleys.
-Aircon system overhaul, including a new condenser.
-Braking system overhaul, including new/reconditioned calipers.
-Suspension overhaul, including new yellow Koni adjustable shocks.
-A complete new rear sub-frame.
-Clutch and exhaust was replaced during engine rebuild.
-Good tyres all round.
-Cloverleaf air runners fitted (Previous owner mentioned this was done, but I will need to go through the invoices to confirm)
She is 15 years old now, so as you'd expect, there are a few minor niggles...
-The LCD display is missing some digits (common problem) but as mentioned earlier, heating and aircon working well.
-The clutch is a little heavy (fairly normal for the 164) and is prone to a slight judder if pulling at low revs.
-The short flexible section of the exhaust could probably do with replacing; you can't feel a blow, but it does occasionally sound a little raspy! (not always a bad thing

)
Thats about it; included with the car are 2 extra alloys with tyres (one unused and one worn but alloys in excellent condition, as is the spare - unused)
Also included are 2 folders; one contains the extensive service history, the other has the full technical schematics and Service CD.
I'm also including a book detailing the interesting history of the 164.
She's MOT'd until mid October and taxed until the end of September.
I'm looking for £975.00 ono.

Cheers,
Brian.
