Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
Am jealous of some of these quotes being bandied around - just been renewing my insurance, round every single company and broker known to man, still couldn't get it under £1000 despite being 28, clean licence, no claims, garaged, 7 years NCD etc. The joys of a south Manchester post code....

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
Admiral/Bell Multi car is pretty good too. I asked about having my old car on as an aditional policy, a 1996 honda civic 1.6, group 9 insurance car.
Fully comp, business use, 30,000 miles a year, kept on the street.
They will match my NCD and do it for a tad over £600. That is pretty cheap considering I have the 147 already on a 15k miles per year policy.
Now I just need to convince my boss to give me more car allowance...

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
Mine is £280 on a 156 JTD. A quote on a 147 GTA comes in at about £550, not too bad, I wouldn't be happy paying £1000+!!!!

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
A quote on a GTA for me is just over £2000.
But a quote on a 2.5V6 is Just under £1000.
I'm 22.

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
Bare bones comprehensive on GTA was a shade less than £300 (swiftcover).
Added on a few bits, total about £350 ish.
Being old has some advantages!

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
I have been insuring my 147 GTA through either Adrian Flux or Hyperformance (which is one of a number of trading names of Allan and Allan) for a few years now. They have good deals with insurers for modified/young drivers (the latter one doesn't apply to me worse luck!). Always been OK
Good Luck

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
I would say adrian flux but I have a warning for everyone one...
Last week I bumped a ford KA in a car park. I could have driven off but I am not a tosser so thought I should leave a note. The door was knackard and needed reskinning. Mine had a small scuff (about £50 to blend it back in good as new). The KA cost me £903.
I ended up doing this cash because Bell (aka admiral) have put lots of hidden extras in my policy bumping up my excess from the £500 I expected with the voluntary to £850. They are cheaky basits for doing it as the quote I got actually shows £150+£350 voluntary. It is only when you read the fine print you find clauses about age etc adding X amount for this and X amount for that.
Logically it made sense not to claim with 3 a 3/4 years NCD (so not short of the point i can protect it). It made me think thought that really I am not getting much for my money at all. I would have to do over £2k worth of damage before they even took a risk.
Just be careful of those blind spots created by the rear pillars and headrests people. It can be expensive!

My 156 GTA costs me £1300 a year now.. I never thought I would be able to afford the insurance but Admiral worked wonders for me. I went direct through them too. No brokers or price comparison sites.
When you say it is a 147GTA replica... is it real???? Or a 2.0 with a body kit?

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
Swift Cover won't even insure me on my 147 jtd and i'm almost 25 with 5 years NCB. I fiddled around with my date of birth and they would've insured me by the time I was 27! Madness!

How the hell does that work!
How the hell can a 22 year old be insured on a 3.2! I only have 1 years NCB.

It isn't too bad for insurance providing you are over the age of 25... or have a decent NCB.

As long as you haven't claimed, insurance companies will usually give you a prorata refund on your policy if you cancel (less a small admin fee).
Sounds like there could be an easy £500 up for grabs for you there....

Could of been but that was ages ago.
I didn't want to lose my NCB though so I stuck with Admiral.

Re: Quote for 21 year old on 147 GTA
The benefits of being old(er). I pay coppers for the Ti and Clare says under £500 for a high mileage business policy on the GT. We also have boring low risk jobs too.
