Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

I have not tried Adrian Flux but Chris Snot quoted me £280 MORE THAN MY EXISTING POLICY WITH THE SAME INSURANCE COMPANY that i was already with, then told me it would be another £200 on top of that for cover to commute to and from work! :
Should change their name to Dick Turpin.

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

Personally I won't be using Admiral again. There offshore call centre is pretty hopeless. Took them about 15 mins to add the fact that I'd put a strutbrace on the car onto my policy then charged me £25 extra premium

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

Both AF & CKI were far more helpful than any other company that I tried. I would have been happy to deal with either but at the end of the day AF were cheaper so I went with them.

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

i ve been with AF for 4 years now and every year they have given me the best quotes, I ve found once you have a policy with AF they want to keep your custom. The cheapest quote i had on my alfa 156 jtd was £560, bearing in mind i am only 25 with only 1 yrs no claims 3 pentaly points and an accident under my belt, Adrian Flux got my quote down to £275 fully comp

Oliver, Chris Knott were not very good with me and I have also heard AF is not good for some others, we all have different expectations and service levels, you cannot please everyone.

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

I have used AF for my fiat 500 gamine and recieved great service, but found BELL Direct the best by far for my 166 2.5, under £400 and not limited miles either.:

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

Unfortunately they were a little more expensive than my current insurance, but I think it will be a worth while task to check with them every year (renewal) as they might be cheaper due to:

A, Your age,
B, NCD
C, change in their quotes (more competitive)
D, change in your status (such as location etc)

(This is going by experience as I was quoted by DL at a higher cost than Tesco's, 2 years later, DL was cheaper than Tesco's)

I find that some companies target young drivers so they lower the costs, they see them as an investment and hope you will stay with them for many years, others target older drivers due to the obvious experience and more mature nature of driving (therefore a lower risk)

You also have to consider the level of service they provide against other insurance companies.

Would be interesting where abouts Adrian Flux sits on the 'age' band as I would suspect (like many Alfaowners) to be around the 30+ mark

Just a thought anyway

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

I went with AF for the Alfa this year and got a good price at £580 with mods declared and zero no claims.

I was with Privelage but now insure my other car with them 'cos I can only use my full no claims bonus on one car.
AF where only £50 more expensive than Privelage with full no claims.

The paperwork I had to fill out with AF took the p**s a bit mind, just about the only thing they didnt ask for was a body cavity search!

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

I got really cheap offer from AF. I have an Alfa 146 1.8TS and I am 26 with 2 years NCD. My previous insurer quoted me £760 with £350 excess for TPFT and I finally accepted the offer of AF for £310 with £150 excess :xmas:

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

Gtv insurance with Adrian Flux was best for me - everyone elses price rocketed when i told them id changed the exhaust - i got a good price with AF and the exhaust was just classed as a minor modification - ive been very happy

I have to agree with Swanny tho - the paper work was a massive hassle - i let them do a cavity search tho - just for my own enjoyment

Re: So who took out insurance through Adrian flux / AO Club?

I have sent a quote request to AF.

I will be playing them off with CK.

I lost 6 years NCB in this premium year as a result of an accident, this seems excessive to me.

AF have quoted £388 for me, not bad but I got a cheaper quote from Kwik Fit and have now forwarded this to CK.
