This depends on who you are insured with, some company's do multi car policies and some dont. If your company doesn't do this then they may give you a discount if you set up a second car policy with them. If you have two separate policies remember you will be building two lots of NCB which will enable you to compete with more markets at renewal.

Re: 2 car insurance
Yes.. I'm in the same situation. I can get cover for 2 cars but it costs the same as 2 different policies, more or less. In the end I found it cheaper to buy a normal policy for my dailiy driver and a restricted mileage jobbie for my GTV .. but I shouldn't have to arse about like that.
I'd be interested in a policy that covers two cars but only at 1.3 or 1.5 times the cost of the single policy, as I can't be driving both my cars at the same time.
I appreciate that having a second car on a ploicy is a liability for the insurance - they could both get stolen or go up in flames, for instance - but the biggest risk is accident, and I can only drive one at a time. Effectively insurance firms are taking "fully comp' " money to cover me against "fire and theft" on my second car.

Re: 2 car insurance
I'd like this type of policy too, but if I have named drivers, then I suppose it could be possible to have more than on car on the road at the same time - possibly quite frequently. Maybe that's the reason why it isn't that common - don't know.

Re: 2 car insurance
I will look in to this when I renew, having a Q4 means you actually on occasions need 2 cars to get somewhere!

Re: 2 car insurance
Direct Line will give you your NCD on both cars and 10% off the second car.

Re: 2 car insurance
on the admiral one, they take into consideration the bonus on both cars. The Alfa has been quoted at £358 and my other daily hack (a citroen bx gti) at £165.00.

Re: 2 car insurance
Can you get these 2 car deals on line or do you need to phone the companies? Anyone know anything about pay as you go insurance?

Re: 2 car insurance
This is my post no 1066...Something to do with car insurance?....well its a phone no...
We went with the parrot's multi car policy 2 years ago and made a big saving....The renewal is just the total of the 3 cheapest quotes on confused so next year shop around again.

Re: 2 car insurance
Peter Best offer a second car policy - along the lines of a classic car policy.
Mileage limited to 5,000 miles a year and the car has to be over ten years old, but a GTV on this costs less than £250 a year. Also the policy ignores no claims bonus, which is great if like me you have been running classics for the last few years, and don't have a NCB.
Worth a go at least, as long as you fit the criteria.
Good Luck
