Following Bertone Museum Liquidation, many prototypes will be Auctioned on the next RMAuctions event, which will take place on 21MAY11.

During this auction among other cars one of the most beautiful prototypes ever made will be auctioned. The Lamborghni Marzal. Another car that will be auctioned is the Lancia Stratos Zero (the prototype), altough am prety sure who will get this one. Each car is expected to bring around €1,000,000.

People of my age grew up with the image of the Marzal (which was made in 1967), seeing it going around the F1 Monaco circuit, as well as on 555 commercials every night on the TV, and hoping that will manage to see it up close sometime. With the only car ever made being auctioned this means that this will never happen.....

The car (as happens in most cases) will end up in a private collection away from the peoples' eyes.

maybe this has something to do with shutting down the alfa museum as well ! I hear that its already closed for "renovations" but rumors say that it wont open again !

I'm sure private collectors are as enthusiastic as we are. Only difference is that they dont like to share their collections with other enthusiasts

Sad to say but agree with Chris. It looks that they are erasing what is most valuable for the Brand,........ it's heritage. When they realise that most of their sales are due to this factor I'm afraid to say that it will be too late. Ignorant to Alfa's heritage customers will not pay more money to buy a rebadged Abarth.

Pavlos, it seems the Marzal found a new home. Still no word on who bought it, but they paid 1.5 million for it.
I'm surprised it actually fetched double what the Stratos did...

That was what I was afraid of.

Anyway they were expecting around 1 million. Am not surprised though for the final price. It worths every penny, and I believe in a few years the lucky man who got it, will be able to make a profit if he decides to sell it. Am just very sad that wont be able to see it and take a few pics myself.
