Got my Giulietta!

As the title says I got my Giulietta yesterday.

It's a white 1.4MA with the Sport Pack 2 (8C Wheels). If you see me anywhere nod

I'll post a few pictures once I get back from Paphos...

Back! It was such an enjoyable ride... (a total of 350Kms)

Few remarks:
  • The ride is unexpectedly smooth considering the quality of our roads, the 18" wheels and the sport suspension!
  • Blue&Me can be a pain on the *** with the Greek names in phonebook.
  • Quality of the cabin is top notch! No rattles, no shakes no nothing.
  • Most of the sound that gets in the cabin is coming from the tires at highway speed. Could be quieter (the big wheels could take the blame I guess), however when whispering to my girlfriend in the next seat and she could easily hear me. In short, the noise in the cabin is on par with a Volvo C30 I drive and that says a lot...
  • Start and Stop could be usefull but I need to change in a big way the way I am driving. I will be turning it off for now.
  • The car in Dynamic mode is fast! Really REALLY fast! Although it is still early to push it hard I did get up to a "safe for the engine" speed and I honestly could not believe how smooth and easy the power delivery was.
  • Finally, I got a lot of admiring looks while driving, even though Alfa is a rare (and often dismissed) brand in Paphos.

Unfortunately I didn't have time for pictures and its dark outside. I have another trip planned tomorrow and I will try and take a couple.

From the remarks floating around, it looks that Alfa is making a grand comeback with this great looking car. Have seen a white one pushing the engine a bit last week behind SOPAZ, and was surprised to note that the sound of the engine was really beautiful. Very surprised, because most of modern cars are mutilated due to noise restrictions...

Congratulation my Alfisti friend msocratous for your beauty enjoy her and we are expecting many and nice pictures of your beauty. No my Alfisti friend connospp unfortunately they don’t use the boxer engines any more, I think this is an every Alfisti’s dream the boxer engine return but based on the passion sound e.t.c that the Alfa Romeo boxer engines were build off but as we can see with all those “environmentally” European based regulations on sound and emission that is going to be a dream placed next to the other dream named 8C , the sound could be produced from the exhaust system the engine the turbo I don’t know I am just guessing

Thanks for your wishes guys!

I managed to take a couple of (crappy) mobile shots this morning. I will try to take more during the trip today.
If not, you will probably see her up close in the presentation next month.

Congratulations on your Giulietta,

Jip the 1.4 MA is really fast in Dynamic. And the change in exhaust note is nice too

I have the same wheels and yes even on South Africa's crap roads the ride is very smooth .

Enjoy and I wish you many happy miles.. I have 3 150 happy miles on mine already

As long as you are OK driving a car with the steering wheel at the wrong side, you are welcome

Well, if it was a grand cheaper maybe I would though about the 8C red. But at 1800 for that paint, choosing the second best color was a no-brainer...

After 10 days and 1080Kms on the clock, I still can't get enough of the car. I honestly wish that my morning commute was a bit longer

It does need a proper wash though and since I don't have my own space I need some recommendations for a car wash. I need a reliable place that take care of the car... Otherwise I will resort on a self service station.

First of all congratulations for your new Alfa and welcome to the Alfisti Club.

As regards car washing, I have stopped using the various BRUSH stations for obvious reasons and using "Retro Mobile Car Wash". The guy called Demetris (97774750) will wash your car anywhere you like. His base is Nicosia but has a couple of car collectors in Limassol where he washes and polishes their cars. He owns a Ford Transit fully equipped with a A/C generator, water tank, pressure nozzles, etc. He even polishes and waxes cars with electric equipment. He cleans the cars very carefully and thoroughly. Very honest and reliable person. He used to do this job in the UK for 12 yrs. Cost for sallon cars is Euro15. He even works on Saturdays. Give it a try and you will not regret.

Glad to here you are happy with it

Regarding the washing, not wanting to reject Nicolas's guy, I usually wash my cars myself.
However, when I dont have the time, I take it to Clean and Care opposite the Customs near griva digeni - peugeot show rooms.
Antonis there is a very good friend and also an Italian car lover. He washes by hand and pays attention to detail. Also cleans the wheels inside out
If you like, give him a call on 99-693247 and tell him that Christoforos sent you
