GTA's in Cyprus? And a few pictures

Hello fellow Cypriots. Firstly, do we have to converse in English or is Greek possible? Either way i'll make this in English to be on the safe side.

OK a bit of background info for me. I joined a couple of years ago with the intention of asking info about the Mito as i was thinking of buying one. This was before the Mito actually went on sale in Cyprus. The Alfa sales guy i talked to on the phone told me there wasnt one on the island yet available for test drives but they would have one in a couple of months and he would call me then to arrange a test drive. Needless to say he never called back (the same with the VW guy for the Scirocco) and soon later i changed my mind altogether and bought something completely different (and Bavarian ).

Anyway, my point is that i dont drive an Alfa but i still love them. Now then, i live in Paphos OK? And a few months ago there was a leg of the classic car rally starting from Venus hotel in Paphos so i went there to see them leave, take pictures and some video.

Several nice classics there. A Morgan Plus 8 that sounded like the God of Thunder himself, an immaculate Fiat 124 Sport Coupe and of course several Alfa Romeos, some of their owners may be on here in fact.. My favourite of them was a lovely sounding 2000 GT Veloce, at least that's what i think it is. This got me thinking, are there any classic GTA's here in Cyprus? I'd love to see and hear one in person. Even a properly built replica would be a sight to see. How about 33 Stradales? Anyone's seen a replica around these parts? Or any other interesting older sporty Alfa Romeo's?

A few pictures attached for your enjoyment.

More pictures and a couple of video clips.

The 2000 GT Veloce

The Morgan and a cameo by my Bavarian pocket rocket right at the end in this one.

Hi GA41, and welcome

First of all I'm afraid that the english language is a must for this site - in the rules and regulations - but as I can see you have no problem writing in English
On the bright side, writing in English gives the opportunity to other users from other countries to read and reply to your threads

There are many old and classic Alfa's in Cyprus ! Some owned by Cypriot "alfaowners" and some by guys that sadly arent in our Cyprus Club yet ( because we dont know them )

As for GTA's specifically , there is one owned by a member of our club, another member has the Giulia Bertone 2000. I have also seen a freshly rebuilt 1750 Veloce Coupe and there are also some GTV's and GTV6 's either on the road or currently been rebuilt ( Marios Englezos GTV6 ).

Then there are a few Alfasuds and Alfa Sprints still on the road and some been rebuilt, but I've never seen a 33 Tipo Stradale in Cyprus ! There was a Montreal but that was shipped to Greece a few years ago after the owner passed away.

Now I have a question for you ! If you like Alfa's , and you are interested in classic ones, why dont you buy one and rebuild it ?

Plenty of classic Alfa metal on the island then. Next time you arrange a meet some place i might drop by to check them out. As for buying a project Alfa, it's true i do love Alfa's but i also love pretty much anything on 4 wheels. If i'd buy a project car it would probably be something like a kit car, a Caterham Seven for example or that lovely Jaguar Mark X i spotted abandoned in a field a while ago. I like the quirky and weird as much as the sporty and quick but if the right Alfa came along then who knows...

Nice pictures GA41
I also participate in that rally with my old mercedes.
It's a blue one, do you have it in any of your pictures?

I agree with you these old Alfas are... something else.
Unfortunately, these models are very difficult to find (in a good condition overall) and if you find one it would be very expensive.
It seems that the price of an old Alfa, when it goes turns to classic (30+ years) goes up by the day
