Hi guys

just to inform you that last week I sent a " request " email to Top Gear UK.

Since they will be doing another series this year, starting June 27th - for those of you who are fans ( NikolasV ) , asking them if they could do a test drive of the new Giulietta for us

..... test drive.... their way of course

I immidiately got a reply that they got the email and I hope they will include this in their new series

I specifically told them that I just realised my " newest " Alfa is 20 years old ( not counting my wife's 156 ) and that I dont want to buy another car if its not an Alfa !

I've seen a test drive of this car from an other car critic, who said its the best Alfa made for the past 25 years or so...

Yes, I 've seen a few test drives also, but the one I remember the most was saying that the Guilietta is the best Car that Alfa produced for the last 25 years,... but it's not the best Alfa

It's interesting that you got a reply from them, looks like those guys don't ignore their fans

Nikola please don't be sad about it. I am sure they forgot to mention that this is the best only in segment "C". i.e. Alfasud mid 70's and then Guilietta. What about the 33 & 147? Chris may has something to comment about it?

Nikola best of luck for the forcoming Historic Rally. I am sure this time you will do even better and may see you on the podium. Definitely best amateur entrant.

You are definately right !!! I always have something to say !

This is just one critic guys, so its just one opinion. In my opinion, Alfa never made a bad car !
Its always been good looks, great performance and superb handling

.... just remember what Jeremy Clarkson said : " Alfa makes cars to be as good as a car CAN be ! ......... briefly

Good idea, I hope they do a review.

If they do I imagine Clarkson will start with " We have been literally inundated with..... a letter"

But it isn't a better Alfa.Sounds nonsensical? Stick with us. While the Giulietta does all the proper, grown-up car stuff - build quality, refinement, economical engines - better than just about any of its predecessors, it comes at the expense of Alfa's essential... Alfaness. Character. Passion. God-give-me-one-now-and-to-hell-with-the-residuals desirability. The Giulietta is an easy car to admire and like,
but not one that grabs you lustily by the man-parts.
As you can see top gear don't think it's a real alfa anymore, they should still do a road test because the masses need to see that it is a good car, but they will probably end up saying how it isn't a "true alfa", etc.
People said the same about the mito when it came out, but due to it's flawed steering it could still qualify as an alfa (it wouldn't be an alfa if it was perfect)

I do agree that they should have made the exhaust a bit fruitier on the giulietta to make it more of a driver's car, but I guess they are so focused on emissions and economy that they wouldn't want to ruin it with a loud exhaust.. I guess they want it to appeal more to the masses rather than just alfa/car fans.

Thats exactly what I want to know mate, and exactly why I requested the test drive !

If thats the case, I'll stick to my other Alfa's, even if they are between 20 and 30 years old
