Is there any info on when the beautiful Giulietta will be available in Cyprus? And any clues about prices?

Thanks

The Giulietta will be in Cyprus in October. Prices not yet finalised but will be very soon. Been fortunate enough to see it up close in Turin. Veeeery nice !!

Goodmorning Alexi

How about the Brera 1750 TBi. Is it available in Cyprus?
If yes, what is the starting price?
(I asked a sales guy also at the exhibition and he told me that they didn't know the price yet, they would know within a couple of weeks but he never called me)
Thanks

Yiasou Nikola !

The Brera and Spider 1750's are available to order and start from 39,000 and 41,000 Euro respectively, on the road.

The 2.2 variants continue as Selespeed.

Thanks,

I expected to be cheaper considering that the 2.2 was starting from about 44000 euros.
Considering that the tax is less I expected the 1750 to start from around 33000 - 35000 euros

Well in 2 years, you will be able to buy only a second hand Alfa Romeo coupe, considering that they are going to discontinue the GT and the Brera buy the end of 2011, without considering a replacement.

I want to be able to buy the 3.2 Brera at sometime soon

Nikola, The tax difference between the 1750 and 2200 is roughly 3000 euros.

The tax brackets go roughly like this ... up to 1650 cc is 0.51 euro per cc, 1651-2250 cc is 3.42, 2251-3000cc 5.98, 3001cc < is 7.69 euro per cc. Thereafter you have a discount or surcharge according to emissions values.

Therefore I would forget the 3.2, even as a used import. Nevertheless the performance difference is not that great to the 1750.

Yes I know that.
I remember when I was checking the prices in Cyprus, the 3.2 is almost the same price as a BMW M3
Anyway, I will see what I can do.
I know that the performance of the TBi is "closer" to the 3.2, especially the 235bhp one. But let's be honest if you had to choose between a Turbo and a natural aspirated what would be your choice? (not considering the price ofcourse )
I haven't heard about your offer yet though

With the offer I'll revert.

The V6 is for cruisers, the Turbo for bruisers.

Alfa cars are more expensive in Italy than German cars. That's the reason you see more BMW,VW,OPEL than 'their' Italian brand.

Hi guys , if you ask for my opinion i prefer turbos ! You can gain more power with less effort and less money !!!!!

Smaller capacity Turbos suit our roads better as they provide roughly the same torque as normally aspirated large capacity engines. Large capacity engines are best enjoyed on long streches of open road. That is where their extra bhp counts. Nevertheless, it goes without saying, that a V6 is more refined and sounds better than a 4-cylinder engine (you'll be surprised that even on some modern cars, there are exceptions to the opposite).

I'll give you an example ... driving a nice twisty road such as anything you'll find on the Paphos mountains, means slow turns which need torque at lower revs. Modern Turbo engines can give you that. Larger capacity, normally aspirated engines need more revs to reach their "sweet" point. Here a 1750 TBi will be faster than a 3.2. On any high speed motorway sprint the 3.2 will be faster.

Also smaller engines are lighter, therefore result in better handling and steering response than having a heavier engine up front.

I agree with everything you said guys,
but the only thing that I don't like on turbos is the "uncontroled" acceleration at low revs.
It feels like you don't control the power....
Anyway, I know that someday (when I will buy a new alfa probably ) I 'll have to live with it

Supercharged16V, there is also another saying ... "Size doesn't matter" or so my girlfriend keeps telling me ...

Nevertheless, I wish we could be free to choose whichever capacity engine we wanted without being penalised so much on duty. In Cyprus, the duty of the 3.2 is roughly at least 28,000 euro. In other words you can get a Spider/Brera 3.2 for the price of a TBi + a Mito 155bhp and a lot of loose change.

Therefore, size doesn't matter.

....or! find a way to supercharge the 2.2 engine (after warranty expires ofcourse )
I think that could do the job

I am with you Chris!
Fingures crossed, I hope they will stop charging us the import tax some day...

talking about the sound of the 3.2 engine...
Some day you must listen the sound of the 2.8L l6 engine of my old mercedes.
It's.... something else. If I stast that engine in the middle of the night I guarantee, a whole neighbourhood will wake up.
Ask Nicolas2327, he will confirm

Just ask Nicolas2327. He lives a few blocks away from my house.
