Refreshing my 1983 GTV 2.0
I am still taking things apart and I hope it wont take me forever to but it back together. It is a very exciting project and lots of fun. So if I get stuck I can find help from the site right? Here are a few pictures of it right now.

Nice to finally see the pictures of your GTV Nikiforos !
You dont seem to have so many rust problems ! Will you be doing a full restoration or just fixing whats visible at the moment ?

Yes, compared to other GTV's mine is in very good condition with rust only behind the front wheels. Definately not a full restoration but enough to keep me busy. Want to change a lot of the bushings, brakes, brake lines, driveline stuff and so on. Then I want to fix the rust and do a good paint job with the original colors offcoourse. Today I was messing with the flex disks (shown in the picture) and I could not find the correct flex disk for the front part of the driveline. It seems that the front one is a GTV6 flex disk. Anyway Chris do you know how much a good paint job usually costs, I have no clue?
Well done Chris on putting Cyprus alfisti on the map.

Good paint job with car fully stripped, you can calculate somewhere between 2000 and 2500 euro.
I know its a bit expensive, you can do it for much less, but not as well as the first option.
Respray without removing windshield , door locks and windows, and just using masking tape to paint over them, could cost you around 1500 Euro, but not recommended unless you are planning on stripping the car again in the future.
Flex disks you can find at Zanetos and Germanos, or complete drive axles for that matter

bushings
Hey Chris, well not yet I just got a lot of bushing parts from IAP, trying to change those. I did some underseal at the back of the car but that is about it, going pretty slowly huh.
I cant seem to be able to remove the upper arm at the front of the car in order to change the bushing but will somehow manage. Parts from IAP are new and sealed and cheapper than here, I just paid 15% tax thats the only bad thing

Now its not nice showing just parts and broken down cars that might take a long time to complete especially when amatuer people like me are trying to do it, so here are a few pictures from before.

Hey Chris, I am putting it back together, hope it can run for the Platres weekend. This summer I have saved money for a good paint job.

Nothing yet, I am hoping that the painter will fix it. I have found new panels but I don't think I have to buy them? do I? I have to talk to people about this, I don't know how it is done and how much it will cost. I did not look into it yet. What do you think Chris.

well, you can still get the rear wheel arch repair panels from UK.
Front wings are no longer available as far as I know.
So , you will need to take it to someone who knows his stuff with welding.
I can recommend someone for you if you like. He is currently restoring his own GTV6 as well. He can do your paint work as well, and because you are an alfaowner, he will give you a better price as well

I know where I can get the fenders but I don't know if its worth it. Recommendations are very welcome. This is my source if I will need to get anything. Alfa Romeo and Fiat Front Fenders and Repair Sections
A GTV6, not the silver one with EAE something number plates is it? Is he in our club? Thanks for the info.

He is in the Club but he has never come to an event as he was without a car for some years.
No, thats not the one. This is a "new" GTV6 in Cyprus, imported it from UK a few months ago and fully restoring it till today )

All the necessary panels have been bought from England. Now whenever Marios Englezos says OK my car will be going there for a full bodywork and paint job. Cant wait to see my gtv in new color.

new colour ?
you mean you are painting it a different colour, or the existing colour only ... new ?
I was talking with Mario the other day, and he said that your car will probably be the last big project he does - at least for now. I think he mentioned something about after August !
