George's Sprint

Hi guys, hi George ....

as many of you may know, George is now in UK doing his master . He left his car at his dad's shop before he left and asked me to take care of it untill he gets back.

Two days after he left, the unfortunate insident happened ( you can see that in "Sprint 16v build up" thread in the Sud/Sprint/33 forum ) which made damages to George's car, broke glasses and windows etc.
I replaced the broken glass so that the car could be safe and waterproof, cleaned the car and took it back to his dad.

George, I went by your dad's shop today, only to find out that your Sprint's battery was flat and the car wouldnt start.
I jump started the car, left my Sud at your dads shop so he can align my steering for me, and took your car with me.

First of all, I noticed that your gauges on the dashboard work whenever they want to. Volts go up to 14v and down to 8v depending on road conditions Probably a bad ground or something. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know.

The other thing that I noticed, is that you left the car for me to drive around.... ON EMPTY !!!!!!!!!!
I nearly had to push it to the petrol station

Other than that, I will drive your car around for a couple of days, give it a good wash and put the door cards back in place.

Then I will post some pictures for you

George, I found out the problem with your electrics.

It seems your car behaved the way it did because of the flat battery. when the fan kicks in the volts drop to 8 volts because there isnt enough juice in your battery

Gave it a good run tonight in town, car behaves well and runs smoothly. Hydraulic tappets have stopped clicking as well.

Oh... by the way.... John fa**ed in your car and it smells pretty bad

Errmmm.... okay ..... I think I started this

George I will go and pick up your car from your dad, either tonight or tomorrow night.

Have you had any luck finding a good suspension upgrade in the UK ?
Your car feels almost as bad as my Sud to drive with that suspension

Nice to know that the Sprint is now fixed and out running again - it is a lifesaver as well!

Chris , can you post a pic from the card board. I want to see the design on it in order to make mine too. I want also to use black and red due to red leather seats. Also , is it possible to make some measurement for the speaker hole because i want to activate mine and i don't want to start drilling in blind.

George, I think you made a mistake buddie.....

You were complaining to me yesterday that nobody had replied to you about the suspension upgrade you need, but you didnt post it in your thread.
You posted this in the Welcome to AO Cyprus forum

I think you should get the H&R's I got for my Sprint. I dont know if you can find stiffer ones ! If you do, I want a set as well. Low , stiff and uncomfortable

Unfortunately the best choice right now is H&R . If you want stiffer then either you have Koni adjustable and ake them stiff or buy the 35mm lowering kit springs.

Thanks Chris about the photos.

If any of you ever come across my old 'sud I'd love to hear of it. Sadly I did hear that it was written off on the old Lim - Epi Road near Ypsonas but you never know.

George, I know you told me to drive your car hard when I drive it around,

you know I dont like doing that with other people's cars, but last night I had no choice

I drove your car last night to a friends house for a social visit. As I was leaving, I heard a very nice racing sound approaching me. A Lancia Delta Integrale 16v passed by me !

I quickly got into your car , started up ( thank God the engine was still warm ) and tried catching up with him .

I caught up with him a couple of traffic lights later, on a double lane, and stoped next to him !
It was a yellow 16v Mk3 Integrale, with British licence plates , and the air vents on the back of the front wings as well
He kept looking at your Sprint, I kept looking at his Lancia , and then the green light went on

I tried to mess with him by reving your Sprint and pushing on high revs.
Ofcourse I wasnt expecting to outrun this Lancia, that would be rediculous I just wanted to make him floor it so I could see it go and listen to his engine
It worked ! He dropped into 2nd gear and gave it hell !!! He passed by me as if I was stopped
I am so inlove with this car
The sound of his external ripping the asphalt !!!!
I went home happily and had sweed dreams

Hi george. how things going over there? Your car is crusing down the streets driven by the smallest alfa romeo driver...
Last night a police patrol was chasing an alfa romeo sprint which was chasing an Integrale..
Anyway you ll find your cars exhaust very clean when you get back.
