Strange nose coming from car

I have a Mito 95 approaching 25,000 miles. As of last week the car sometimes makes this strange noise which I think is gearbox related. It's like a low whine when you come off the gas when the car is in gear. Any ideas?

I want to take it into the dealer to see but the noise is intermittent right now. It will do it randomly and only for a couple of miles each time it happens so it will be hard to show unless it will get worse?

Also something else (also intermittent) is that when I brake it will make this strange clunk like once just before the car is about to stop. Sounds almost like the car scrapes the ground but thats not gearbox related as it does it out of gear. Any idea what this is?

I'll try to get my car looked at this week or next but it will probably behave well and not make a sound. Really want to get these sorted before the warranty ends.

Alternator belt slipping? Or even worse a slipping clutch?
Clunking brake could be the handbrake sticking on or worn pads

Not sure, alternator was replaced recently when it had water drip on it which killed it. Just had a 70 mile drive tonight and it's getting worse although still intermittent. It was really bad in 3rd gear then 4th. It has just started making a whine on 6th gear tonight.

Might have to buy that extented warranty when the time comes!

Same car and mileage, when coming off the gas, strange whirry flutter noise mean new gearbox for mine.
Get it sorted under warranty fast.

Booked it in for next week! Was your noise also intermittent?

My son could hear it more often than i could. Dealer heard it straight away and advised not to take it away until diagnosed. New replacement gearbox, is i think reconditioned. Done under 3rd year warranty no problem. Charge would have been £1250. Good luck.
