MiTo QV - A dream.

I'm in SHOCK!

So, went to my dealer to get a warranty issue sorted and they said they would value the car and try and get me in a QV. Works out i havent quite made even with my finance yet so gonna wait a few months, but they offered me a good deal on a new QV that they had in. I was impressed, but thought there's no way i'm gonna get a good price on insurance (age 20), so left it. Just come home and thought i would check the insurance cost via Admiral multicar and changing from my 95bhp to a 170bhp QV gives me a £44 refund to the yearly cost!? I double double checked with the guy on the phone and he assured me he had all the right details, so how is this so? It's got me excited now and i'm just gonna save save save and wait for my finance to even up.

2012 Alfa MiTo QV: Sabelt Seats, climate control, rear tinted windows, K&N induction, LED interior+number plate lights, LED rear turn signals, 5000k DRL's, alfa accessory gear knob. More to come...

Dont ask questions and take the deal

I got a refund on my insurance when I moved from Brera to Giulietta QV.

Happy days maybe the newer QV comes with better security or safety features? Not sure if the 1.4 N/A has ESP, hill holder and all that?!

Your not jumping up capacity wise, but it's a nice jump in power and that gets you sub 8 seconds 0-62

Might see the difference on insurance for myself from my 155!

EDIT: remember last year the Guili QV was £100 cheaper for me, but like yourself was more expensive to buy, much faster and was meant to be a higher insurance group?!

Mito Lusso 95 + Qashqai

Ive just done the same on a comparison site and the QV is cheaper to insure at the mo!

That says to me very few have had claims made and therefore the insurers databases see it as a low risk. This was the same when we got our 95 as it was very cheap to insure and since has jumped up.

I have checked the insurance for a 155 and thats not much more (£50) than the 95 either, I imagine the QV will have higher prices come next year as there will inevitably be some claims made against them.

EDIT: Just done one for the diesel 120 and that is a cheaper than my 95.

It was only the 78 junior that didnt come with any of this kit the 95s did.

Mito Cloverleaf

I am looking at upgrading from a humble (and slow) Ford Ka, to a QV....no difference on the cost of a years cover for 100bhp increase! Happy days. Now if only I had the money to buy the one I have my eye on....

It was the same for my insurance changing from a 10 plate 95bhp to a 12 Qv!

MitoMatt how long have you had your finance? The insurers value (notoriously low) was over what I owed on my finance when mine was written off, that was after 18 months.

2yrs 1mth, but I guess it all depends on how much I pay monthly and the deposit I put down and stuff.

Its possible, as someone has already said, that once a few are involved in accidents, then the valuation will change significantly. Good things are often too good to be true. Just be careful you dont end up with a car thats ballistic to insure on your next renewal.....

Brera S 2.2, Mito 135

I went from a 2.2 Brera S to a Mito 135MA last December and got an £8 insurance refund on £530 (same insurer but the cheapest still). Just ran the Mito through the same comparison site again and its now £200 cheaper!
Mito - the car that just keeps giving, love it!

Mito 135bhp TCT

I am also 20... upgraded from a standard 95bhp to 135+TCT and went from £900 to £600 ... if I had got the QV I would have saved another £100 on insurance! Why didn't I check this out first!!! (also before swapping to the 135 I had an accident in the old one!)
