Diffuser or a Veloce spec look

Reversed into a lamppost yesterday and after a bit of claying and rubbing minimised the damage. Have got a little reliant on the rear parking sensors and for some reason it only warned me at the 'very end'.

So this might be the perfect excuse for a change.

Would like the Veloce look and after looking at another thread got a little shock to see that the whole bumper was removed to get at the rear valence.

Have rear parking sensors so these would need to be retro-fitted - is that difficult ?

Could just get the valence painted matt black like the Veloce or could get a diffuser to give it some sex appeal.

Would like to keep the standard exhaust. No point in making an Abarth of the 155B.

Appreciate any suggestions.

No need to take the whole rear end off ..
On the underside there are 4 screws ...The top part then just prises away but be careful of the clips cos one wrong look can snap them

There is a screw in the middle of the diffuser at the top which meets the bumper and is above the slam panel so it is near on impossible to reach, I assumed it was all clips but when nearly ripping my old diffuser I took off the bumper and found a screw holding it on. The bumper is really easy to remove and isn't as daunting as you would think. The hardest part is remembering where the screws go back afterwards so label them if you do it.

Thanks Mito01 & 996 for the replies.

Looked at shop4parts and the price is good.
Alfa Romeo Mito Rear Bumper Lower

Need to check on postage costs to here and compare with a dealer supply to see how it works out. I'm definitely interested in getting one since the rear of the car does not look the best with the 'all white' look.

Had a look on here for other references to the valence and it does look like a worthwhile 'upgrade' and is in 'keeping' with the car.

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...e-painted.html (rear valance painted?)

Has anyone retrofitted the rear parking sensors to this valence ?
Is it possible to source the bits that go into the bumper and keep the original valence so that it can be re-instated for the next owner if they prefer the Lusso painted look.

Looking at the next step for the rear spoiler sounds like it's going to cost a bit more with getting it sprayed etc.

Appreciate any inputs.

It's deffenately worth the swap, I done it and I'm currently in the process of spraying my veloce spoiler. Ruined it first time so I'm starting again. I'm going to post a new thread of how much my mito has changed in last two years. It used to have steel wheels and everything lol

Mito 1.6JTD Lusso

I fitted a Veloce diffuser to my Lusso over 2 years ago haha! It's easy, I ****ed off the hidden screw at the top though, holds just fine.

Thanks for all the responses so far.

Contacted my local dealer this morning and it seems that the rear bumper valence is a different part no. from the one with the rear parking sensors. Quoted €150+vat which is a lot more than the £37+vat for the 'standard' valence.
Spoke with a nice guy in shop4parts and he's checking out if they can source the 'right' valence with the sensors. Initial figure coming back was £130 + courier. Despite the valence being light it seems that when the measures are 'plugged in' it's 'cubed up' and the weight is doctored so a higher postal charge is incurred. Sent a follow on query so that a 'best price' would be worked out.

If I did opt to retrofit the sensors (from the existing bumper) I would have to gauge it. Has anyone done this ?

If anyone is upgrading to a different diffuser off a Veloce and is looking to sell the rear valance I would be interested.

Quick update...

Shop4parts are not able to supply the rear valence with the rear parking sensors at a competitive price compared with the dealer. So I've ordered the standard item. Came in at a very resonable £37 plus £18 for post and being VAT registered managed to get an exemption on VAT for export.

Rear parking sensors. There are 2 in the main bumper and 2 in the valence. I'm hoping to be able to retrofit 2 of the sensors from the old valence or possibly source equivalent sensors off another kit. Has anyone on here retrofitted the rear parking sensors and can they be bought on the 'their own' ?
