OEM Arm Rest

Hi Guys!

Just bought a Mito QV Sport, but would like to fit the OEM arm rest.

Quick question: Do you need to take out the centre console to do this, as I do not want to take things apart. Too scared of rattles.

PS! The car is excellent.

Regards
Michél

I retrofitted an armrest to my MiTo as I didn't get one new.

You need the armrest itself, a new top half of the centre console, an armrest mount and a little plastic bit to cover the workings. It isn't cheap but it's cheaper than speccing it new IIRC.

How do you get this done and why would you need to have a new top half of the centre console? Could I just get the armrest mount, fit it under the existing centre console, make a few holes for the bolt-on and fit on the armrest?

I'm considering to retrofit an armrest on mine. Thanks

I can't remember off the top of my head - it's been a while now... but I think you could gut the rear storage bin/excuse for a cup holder to save you buying a new one

What is the point of the arm rest? I could never drive with it down as it makes access to the hand drive difficult so mine is permanently in the raised position.

agree with this, the armrest is a useless piece of kit, you cant drive the car with it down so it spends its life in the horizontal position, badly designed and you are better off without it

Depends if you do a lot of motorway miles. It's one thing that would be a nice comfort addition to ours that can be pushed up out of the way when not needed.
