Boot Badge Replacement

Hi all,

The rear Alfa badge on my 2012 Mito has started to fade badly and I'd like to replace it with a new one before it looks any worse.

Plenty of cheap stick on badges eBay and forums for other models suggest it's a simple case of prising the old one off with a screwdriver and sticking the new one on, however these are older Alfa models where the badge is not the boot release.

Has anyone replaced a Mito (or Giulietta) badge? If so, is it as described above or is it attached differently as part of the mechanism/is the mechanism likely to be damaged if I try to pull the existing badge off?

No idea!
Probably easier than replacing only the badge?

I changed my badge by dismounting the whole opening mechanism (just pull off the inner boot cover panel and then unscrew the opening assembly from the inside (2 screws) and separate the cable going to the mechanism) and then cutting of the emblem of the base support plate and glue (2k epoxy adhesive) the new "sticker" onto the base plate.

Judging by the picture of the rear ... not that hard but I bet it's awkward ..

Good to know it can be done like that. I wasn't too keen on replacing something that works just because the badge has faded.

Now I only have to find the proper ones. So many knock offs / wrong for the model ones on eBay.

He didn't say it was an "official" badge sticker .. I'm not sure Alfa even do them .. bet the correct replacement is the complete switch .. that's normally how they come.

No it has been unofficial:
2 Stemma ALFA ROMEO MITO GIULIETTA 147 156 159 Logo Fregio Anteriore Posteriore | eBay
But looks good and did not fade at all since half an year.

Then you need to change the other 5 badges on the car grille and wheels to match the new design!
Oh and the steering wheel badge too.

I found some that look just like the official ones that came with the older MiTos. 7 for 2. Worth a punt.
