The other day I traded my 15 year old Arosa for a 1.3ltr Diesel Mito.
I drove to my usual garage to ask if they could still work on my new car.
He said yes they could but added. DO NOT USE SUPERMARKET DIESEL.
Any ideas on using supermarket diesel.
Thanks in advance.

supermarket diesel still has to meet the normal standards set by the powers that be, but i have never ever used supermarket fuel and i'm sure thousands have with no problems at all .there is a but though as usually just meets the lowest standards necessary by law and especially with diesel it can long term clogg things up more so then better quality diesel .. put it another way. i try to eat fresh produces and i dont eat too much processed food, sure its food although in some cases it only just about qualifies as food. aka supermarket fuel ..

I haven't used supermarket fuel in mine as there are no supermarket outlets near here.

To be honest I see little point in risking it, as usually other normal fuel suppliers in the same area will match the price.

If you must I cannot see it doing too much harm because it does have to meet a minimum standard as others have said...

My car seems to like Esso Diesel best. On the Shell and BP stuff the car is noticeably louder..

I have tried the premium stuff like Nitro plus and couldn't tell any difference.

I only ever use supermarket fuel. Morrisons and tesco have their own oil fields and refineries you know, it's not as if they buy if from one of the big five refiners and then sell it cheaper because the others add various kinds of snake oil to it then charge you more for the privilege.
