Anyone got any of these for a Mito QV tct for sale? Was thinking of a remap, but nobody close enough to get it done properly. I understand the torque limiters on the tct needs removing.
Cheers

Before you do anything with your gearbox or engine CU, do a little searching with, say, google. I have not been able to find any reliable or credible data that would suggest TMC products have any significant effect on vehicle performance.

Edit: there is a plethora of seat-of-the-pants -statements. They do not qualify as credible data.

I'm thinking of doing the autoflash first, so will report back. After that, I'll have the cat modified to aid lower temp for turbo through wizard exhaust. It's only an £80 mod, but the cat is very restrictive due to Euro 6 compliance.

I think you are missing the point about the gearbox flash. It's not about dyno measurements - it's about the responsiveness of the gearbox and it being in the right gear at the right time! Not being, being a criticism of the standard setup. Therefore, really the effectiveness of the flash can only really be measured by the 'seat of your pants feel'.

TMC states that the AutoFlash modifies the torque limiter in gearbox control unit. If so, this will show up on a dyno run.

Any gearbox program modifications, if effective, will show as an improvement (or decline) in acceleration times.

Seat-of-the-pants feeling is never ever a valid indicator of performance. We all know, for example, how cars seem to run smoother after a proper wash and polish. And we all know they actually don't.

Well, I've installed the autoflash today and I'm really impressed. It's always in the right gear, instant power in all gears no matter what revs and silky smooth. It's a really good mod and well worth the money. I'm waiting for my tmc tuning module to be reprogrammed now and then it will be a flying machine.
Are the tuning boxes easy to fit?

Giving up today. I spent ages strapping cables and making a nice place for the box to sit, but put cam shaft sensor in the wrong way and put EML on. Took it off for today and try again tomorrow. Other than that, it's a 10 min job to fit.

So, I've fitted the tuning box now and here are my thoughts.
1. It's so smooth
2. Goes pretty fast in higher revs when needed.

What setting are you all running. I started on 6 and now settled for 7. It's not savage fast, but still pins you back.

I live locally to TMC. I had some other parts from Daron and wasn't really looking for increase in power on Giulia Veloce. Daron asked me to bring him the car so we could experiment as he was having trouble reported by American customers (you might be surprised who resells TMC) in setting up their new Wifi controlled box. Problem apparenly stemmed from the fact that Giulia's voltage output drops alarmingly on start up. In experimenting no problem with box on mine (though voltage did drop to nearly 9v).

Daron was videoing install (will go on youtube soon I imagine) mostly to prove operator error on install. Mind you it isn't complicated. No camshaft sensor on Giullia set up simply because it is hard to get to. (Apparently that leads to multiple returns.)

So for a customer who wasn't really looking more power I now have substantially more. I can't verify claimed increases attached, but assure you increases are real. Not intersted in paying for dyno test to produce a number. Seat of the pants is all it is about for me. I have heard rumours about the Veloce's engine power being under quoted by FCA but have always put that down to 'turbo effect'. For my money, tuned estimates seem if anything, conservative also. Car up for second service shortly so will be interesting to drive for a day again without box fitted for comparison.

Daron also did the AutoFlash for me as a thank you. Basically as well as upping the torque limits this 'tune' basically resets what is a learning gearbox. Apparently when the cars come out of the factory, the gearbox learns to adapt to driving style, engine power etc over first 80 / 100 miles (when I was carefully running in). Autoflash basically gives the opportunity to have car learn again. Advice is drive it like you stole it for maximum results. Need to take right to redline in as many gears as you can (before it becomes dangerous) and as many times as you can.

Definitley better shifting once settled. However for me, not the massive change reported by others. That I'm putting down to the fact that Alfa's incorporation of the ZF gerbox into the Giulia was so good in first place.

Again advice is power box first and let car adapt (quickly); then autoflash (takes a little longer). If you follow logic above this makes sense. You want the gerbox to learn in otimised engine state.

Powerbox worked from the off. Once autoflashed (and being driven well beyond how I would normally in order to set up) I was getting engine overboost near the redline in maybe third or fourth. I have a cheap OBD scanner which allows me reset CEL from my phone. Happened three or four times in first 100miles and at steadily reducing power settings (again during what I would call unsympatheic driving). Daron re-wrote the map in the box to reduce the boost at extremes. Box truned back up and no isues since (including 60miles on a trackday on Sunday past). All Giulia 2.0L petrol maps will be similarily based on this going forward.

No vested interest, just my tuppence worth. I wasn't looking for more power but unlikley to give it up now I have it. Better delivery provided with the combination more important to me. 'A' mode in DNA selector now more than the ornament it was before. N mode not found short when power suddenly needed. D just for fun which is rare on our congested and badly maintained roads.
