It was a super charged auto delta V6, with auto delta coilovers. Receipts for 8k from autodelta. About 40k on the clock. Just under 5k to buy I think.

The worst thing about it is he wouldn't take a payment from me over the phone just promised me the car and told me he won't sell it to anyone else, even if they offer more money !!

He sounded like a decent guy and I trusted him. I could of taken the day off work and collected it today.

Yes the owner contacted me to let me know who the underhand buyer was. I knew it was going to be Clive when he wasn't answering my phone calls (for the first time)

I've called him previously with cars I'd seen for sale really cheap, which he bought and made a profit on !!

I thought he had more respect for me as I considered him a friend. It just goes to show what kind of individual he is.

So if the seller agreed to keep it, even if offered more money - what was his excuse for selling it to someone else?

He was very apologetic, he told he he felt bad for going against our agreement.

I said I get it, you want as much money as possible, you should of come back to me with another figure and let me match it or pass the car on.

But he didn't and I guess Clive, with his experience talked him into selling him the car....

What a liberty !!

Yes, 100 %

The seller confirmed that C G Trading bought the car.

I'm not trying to start a witch hunt, I just want people to know what kind of man Clive is.

I was always "pro-Clive" on this forum after I spoke to him a couple of time in the past. Seemed a decent guy

I've also met Andy, who I'd vouch to being an honest guy

So, if it was Clive, is there anyway we can get Clive banned from this forum for his ungentlemanly behaviour?

Clive if I see you at a show etc, do yourself a favour and stay well away from me.
So sorry to hear that mate, hope you're ok.

This does seem very underhand treatment by the seller and the gazumping buyer.

WOW ....I wanted this car but got no reply from seller, I then saw Andys post that he had brought it, was gutted but hey ho I missed out.
To then contact the seller and steal the deal is a real underhand move !!

Well I suppose I owe the forum an explanation.

I was hoping to speak to Andy before posting but his mobile goes straight to answerphone, I've tried half a dozen times. He did try calling me today but I was on the train & later driving with a crap bluetooth, neither ideal to talk with him.

I phoned the seller as soon as I opened the advert's link in post #1. The seller said he had someone coming on Saturday 'to view' at a price slightly less than the asking price. I said I'd pay the asking price & he offered to send me some pictures. I saw Andy's post after this. After seeing the pictures & doing some checks on the reg no' I called the seller back & asked if I could buy the car there & then, even offering to go & collect that evening. We agreed a price OVER the asking price & I paid him then by bank transfer....on Wednesday evening.

If Andy had wanted it that badly, he only lives 40ish miles away, surely he could've popped done to secure it with a deposit......or whatever was easiest to secure it. The car was stinking cheap, to try & chip the price & leave it until the weekend!!??........someone else could easily have bought if before Saturday. The seller had 3 more enquiries today(Thursday) before I collected it. If I hadn't paid then quite possibly he'd have sold it to one of them.

'What kind of man am I'?

I'm the type who early in 2015 bought in a high spec V6, Q2/330s/Konis/GTA clutch etc etc, for Andy but he didn't honour the agreed deal....didn't even come & view. I was disappointed but had to keep the car as I'd paid for it & I was pretty well over stocked at the time. I eventually sold it in September, some 6 months later.

Shortly after this Andy & I were 'looking' at what V6s were available, chatting by phone. We had both contacted the seller of Andy's 'Green Goblin' & when I found out Andy had virtually agreed a deal on it I backed off, leaving it for Andy to buy. After a while, & a track day, Andy contacted me saying he had an overheating problem, had been advised to have the head gaskets replaced & was about to have them done. I eventually convinced him to thoroughly bleed the cooling system as I had a similar problem cured by this. This bit of helpful advise saved him a lot of money, £1500+ at least. No problem that's what we do, help each other.

Recently I agreed to buy a pair of white Momo Spider seats from Andy but didn't know when I could collect, 'no problem collect when you can'. A couple of weeks later I phoned to arrange when to collect only to be told: 'I've sold them........well you hadn't paid & someone asked to buy them'!

Since then he's called me a couple of times &, even though I was ****ed off with him, I chatted amicably.

But in this instance, with this GTV, I wasn't prepared to step back & wait for Andy, or someone else, to possibly buy it.

Nothing is ever sold/bought until it's paid for.......as Andy told me.

I'll leave it at that. You too obviously have a previous history, but it still seems a little un-sporting.

If you open the thread you see the ad's link, open that it takes you to the ad in another tab/window. I phoned straight away, coming back to the thread. I then posted that after speaking with the seller & waiting for the pictures. Once I'd seen the pictures & done my checks I decided it had to be bought.
