Re: GTV Boot Seal / Leak
yes I did - as suggested above the boot seal wasn't the problem, and not the base of the boot itself. It turned out to be the aerial fitting.
Water was seeping in, and running down the inside wall of the boot, to pool at the base. The boot carpet has a waterproof backing, so it's only when you have a substantial amount collected (or the backing has cracked) that it leaks through.
Although at first it seemed OK, the aerial fitting wasn't particularly tight. Mine was the standard factory fitted aerial & when I had a closer look inside the boot there was a very shoddy bit of what looked like scrap metal, that had been hacked at an angle to try and make the aerial base fit the shape of the bodywork. A lot of fiddling, a selection of washers and some filing and I had a good fit and some pressure on the aerial seal - and no leak.
Hope this helps, Stef.
