I had mine changed for the MOT as the clamp was shot and the mechanic said rather than change the bushes, he prefers to change the whole arm, although it was a bugger to get out.
Unless you are going to do the job yourself, get a quote for fitting first.
Shop 4 Parts quote £41 ex VAT EACH, Jamie quotes £46 inc VAT EACH so £43 for pair is half price which I find a little odd. Visually they look fine though.
I bought a pair from Jamie, they take a morning to fit with only a small amout of cursing. Have a look at Jamie's site for intructions. Certainly replacing the whole wishbone is the easiest and cheapest method.
No but I wish I had thought about doing that! Just got the lower wish bone from a guy round the corner. Cost me £40, I really didn't think about doing those bushes ******. It would of been a lot cheaper. I drove to Norwich today because I missed the last delivery yesterday. I just didn't think about the front bushes!
I was going to have a go at tackling mine but after weighing up the costs of buying the bits and wrestling with the car, I ended up having mine done at Peak Alfa... No stress for me and the knowledge that they were done right was worth the extra cash for the few hours labour... oh, also got a nice bacon butty in Castleton while they did it.
