Sticky clutch

Two weeks a ago I took delivery of mr first ever Alfa. The Brera 2.4 L diesel. Brilliant!! Goes like a dream. No problems at all until today. Clutch tending to stick when pressed fully down on an intermittent basis. Does anyone recognise this as probelm with new Breras?

Re: Sticky clutch

Ditto! good luck with your clutch woes!

(not wanting to seem patranising, but there isn't any carpets/ floor mats/ trim fouling the pedal?)

Re: Sticky clutch

Hi and welcome to the boards.

Like mentioned above I've had this before and it turned out to be the mat catching on the peddle. That is until I got 2 of the carpet fixings for the drivers mat.

Hope it's something as simple and cheap as this.

Re: Sticky clutch

I had this problem too... if your floor mats are not secured they can slide forwards, making the clutch seem like it sticks in the down position for a few seconds (or permanently) before popping back. I've heard a few people say they had the same scare, but luckily it's just a matter of either using the secure plastic bolts or get some velcro that sticks really well if you prefer not to puncture the floor carpet.
