This probably seems like a silly thing, but maybe it rings true with some of you...
Since buying my Gtv early December, it's had to live out on the driveway next to the Stilo and my Mercedes CLS. Things were even more difficult at weekends, when a fourth car (our FIAT 500) comes home. Even if I could get one of the cars into the garage, it was then impossible to get it out past the three cars outside.
The other side of the garage was filled with stuff from a 'house move'-like event (emptying two rooms to have new carpet put in). It seemed hopeless to try and put a car in there anyway, because again, it would still not get out past two cars outside.
The neighbours were getting used to the sight of cars parked in the end of the street with engine running etc. as the horrible game of Car Chess unfolded.
The main culprit was the Mercedes, thanks to its five-metre length. I'm happy to report that I sold it last week for a small profit over what I'd bought it for. Having done nothing to it in six months, that was a success
Last weekend the garage was mostly cleared, and last night, I achieved the happy state of affairs shown in the photo.
With the 500 away during the week, either car can get out. I just have to remember to get one out on the Friday so we have a choice of two weekend cars
It was a regular battle to keep the Gtv clean, thanks to the tree leaves, the pollen, the bird droppings. I didn't care much about the Mercedes, but the Stilo was also needing regular washes.
With summer in full swing, it's really nice to have both cars out of the harsh sun - and good to be saving water, too. Even though we don't pay for water here, it usually runs low in these couple of months.
