Hi James could you do a quick pic of the clearence under car, with the car on the road. Like uncle's 'scary' photo lol. How are you finding the sound now? And day to day living with the clearence?

Hi cgc

I'm on holiday at the moment I'll try and do it when I get back in just over a week. Noise is excellent but my car is really a v precious show car and so I'm not the best person to comment on day to day ground clearance. I already avoided some types of speed bump because of the front spoiler even before having the ELs fitted.

I will do a video for those asking/expecting but I need to pick my moment. I want to stay on the right side of my neighbours!

I drove out to a remote country spot to film a quick "rev her up" vid and even so, I got whiny comments from a random rambler! Some people have no appreciation of art do they?

I am struggling to source replacement gaskets for the downpipes, Alfa dont seem to have any of the 2 or 3 hole in stock, neither do anyone else i've looked at or contacted.

Is anyone able to provide some assistance and point me in the right direction ?
thanks in advance

I used those (2 bolt) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2806996083...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT But quick ebay search did not find me a 3 bolt design of that diameter.

I got the 2 hole 'manifold to downpipes' from Alfaworkshop about 6 months ago, he said at the time I was lucky to get them as there were no more in the system.

I've been after the 3 hole 'downpipes to cat' gaskets - but no joy from Alfa or other specialists. I did see some similar on ebay - but I couldn't get any sense out of the supplier, who said that it was just a stock picture. I might just order them anyway: kit 1 or kit 2

Possibly order 2 x kit 2?

Great info chaps. My only concern is that my V6 is a CF2, Jowey's is a CF1, and both of yours are CF3's; but tbh the gaskets look the same - even if we are fitting them at different ends of the pipes.

Kit 2 is marked to suit Engine AR16105 ( which is CF3) with the 3 pin manifold end, I believe ?
so similar to the ones CGC had supplied by Autolusso recently

Those two pin gaskets look perfect !
match up with measurements taken off the OE pipe very very well.
I/D 51mm,
2 pins spaced 75mm approx

The difficulty in finding the 3 pin I think is because for whatever reason the inner diameter is slightly narrower at 49mm, chap at the local motor factors this morning was fairly sure a VW/Audi 3 pin would fit.

having now taken measurements from the OE down-pipes (and can see Fiat in the item description) He could well be right !

Just for future info, my gaskets (CF2) are:

2 Hole gasket - spacing between holes: 78mm (manifold to downpipes gaskets x 2)
3 Hole gasket - spacing between holes: 82mm (downpipes to cat gaskets x 2)

Ha, just measured the cat's rear gasket (triangular 3 hole) - this is a different size from the cat's front gaskets.

Front Cat gaskets (x2) - 82mm between holes (as above)
Rear Cat gaskets (x1) - 75mm between holes

At least now I can ask the supplier to measure them before I order.

Right - here is the first "Casualty" story of these pipes!!
While pulling out of side road a week ago, my front end crashed into a large depression in the road which wasn't easy to spot. There was a huge grinding crash from under the car, swiftly followed by grinding from my teeth!
After this, there was lots of rattling against the underside of the car (as I was previously complaining about) when reversing and also on the overrun.
Having had this looked at today - the mount is broken and the rubber also trashed. This is hopefully now fixed (I pick the car up in 10 minutes) but watch yourselves out there guys, I thought I was being careful with my new "scary" pipework!

Now I have suspension renewed, I'll do another underneath photo with the car on the road.

BIG noise!

Let's see if it's less scary lol.

Still keen to see a road shot of the CF3's, as the design is so different.

VW/Audi 3 pin do not fit.

I bought a pair of the Audi 3 pin gaskets with my fingers crossed, long story short the fire ring is the correct size but the spacing of the pins is way off.

Some gaskets are better than no gaskets.

Irritating because when bolting the pipes back up I have managed to strip the thread off of 1 of the 2 manifold pins on BOTH banks.

Absolute failure.

The saga continues.

Thank you, ride it out, will have to cut the pins off and drill through the manifold flange, this is the case for one of the 2 pins on the rear bank already, should have just done them all

Its not my car in the video CGC, just a video I stumbled across browsing around the Youtube
good sounds, a little farty at low revs their for my taste but the pay off does come at the high RPM's and that crackle on over-run is so satisfying.
