Leaking exhaust manifold

Hi guys,

Last week I got my exhaust fully welded and all leaks are gone now except for the ticking noise I hear from the rear of my engine.

Also when WOT above 3000 rpm I hear a really strange noise almost as if a heatshield is loose.. It's super annoying and takes away all the fun of revving it.

Only at 3000+ rpm is happends and when more than 75% of throttle is applied.

When I cold start my engine its also running rough, and once warm, its butter smooth.

Could this be the rear manifolds leaking? I had a clogged catalytic converter which may have caused it..

Any thoughts before I remove the subframe?

I also got the EGR valve removed and they welded the joint on the manifold shut.. Could that cause the same symptoms?

Thanks for the help guys, you are amazing!

What engine you running Joris?

I think EGR valves were on the early TS engines only.

Im running a 3.0 v6. Its a phase 1 with throttle cable and old air mass meter.

Designs clearly show an egr valve, ive actually disconnected it myself, but someone else did the welding on the exhaust. :-)
