Ok guys, as some of you may be aware one of the lugs on the subframe attached to the inner spring pan arm snapped off the other day which nearly brought a tear to my eye!!
Sourced a subframe from a 3.0l V6 and was delivered for £140, add the £150 for the set of powerflex bushes and I had all the kit I needed to get started.
Luckily I work at a Mercedes main dealer so set upon the subframe this weekend, stripped down the trailing arms and spring pan arms etc and fitted the powerflex bushes (which to be honest are a ***** to get in properly, no wonder people have trouble fitting the 2 washers)
So got it all in and fired up and gave the brakes a full bleed (fluid was horrid) and took it for a spin with the new bushes installed and WEHEY!!!! No more knocking also I have to say they car feels SO much more stable, not just a little bt bu a LOT.
My advice would be fit powerflex if you haven already.
Also the cost of a new subframe and powerflex was cheaper than getting two new arms lol
Dead chuffed now the GTV corners like its on rails
