I 'think' LV4 refers to the ( European market ) TS Cup.
The TS Cup has the V6 running gear at the front to allow the 305mm discs/calipers option. So it would make sense that the TS Cup also gets the V6 rack.
I could be wrong though!
I seem to remember, a few years back we had a similar discussion & came to the same conclusion re Euro TS Cups........ which are all LHD.
To the OP, there's no difference between a std V6 or a Cup, mechanically they're identical.....no matter what some Cup owners will try & convince 'us' otherwise.
There are different racks across the years, so you need one for your Phase 1 1997 year car. **
Check on Eper or ask an Alfa dealer for the part number, or phone various breakers checking it's for your year car.
**EDIT: Just checked on Eper & it's the Ph 2 CF3 onwards, inc 3.2s, that have the later rack which only differs externally where the pas pipes fit on (this includes Cups). So early Phase 2 CF2 engined cars have the same rack as a Phase 1.....I'm talking 3.0 V6s here.
Part number changes to 71722533 for both the Ph1-code M3 & Ph2-code M4. This is for rhd.
The code V4 only relates to the Euro Cup in the steering section.
