Every Winter I have the thought of selling up come spring time and moving on to something else, but end up falling back in love with my GTV and all that has gone into it. The only thing that ticks me off, is the crap seats - you sit on them, not in them and the driving position is too high for what is a sports coupe. I don't think spending in excess of £3K for the Alfaholics Recaro's is a viable proposition. Apart from that, its a very nice car!
I had thought about selling the GTV with my TT S-Line and getting a TTS or TT-RS, but they are just a tad pricey at the moment. There is one on PH for £30K with mods taking it to a whopping 500PS !! But my budget would be half that.
Have considered parting the GTV (but keeping the TT) for a 944 (3.0) S2, as the seating is much much better, plus with 50/50 weight split and RWD makes for a very positive drive.
TT Quattro Sport with the Recaro Pole Position Seats - another future investment as limited numbers made by Quattro GMbH
Porsche 996 Carrera 4S is currently bargain of the decade at circa. £20K for a good one, plus another future investment with their Turbo body. But, I'd have to get some Gordon Bennett (or is it Gordon Gecko) Braces and start Saying "Oh Ya!"
Or hold on for a few more years and I can then qualify (in my age) for a JAG !!!
Like the newer (2006>) XK 4.2 V8, because at the end of day More is indeed MORE! Such a huge amount of motor for £15K and it saves the Braces in exchange for a Cravat, and in that "Leslie Phillips" tone of voice, I can say I drive a "JAG" ding dong!
TBH - I have no true idea, so many motors I have had and so many more motors that I need to try ... until then, Viva La GTV V6
