Hello fellas. Some wee quick questions re the autodrop thingy (bear with me - as a girlie my mechanical and electrical knowledge is negligible!)....
I have a 916 Spider (registered Sept 2000). From what I gather, models from then should
have window autodrop as standard?
When I put the hood down, the autodrop function works. Problem is whoever had the car before me though has, for some reason, de-commissioned the alarm. Since getting the car I have always manually unlocked the door. My questions are:
1 I take it the autodrop (if operable) will only work if the alarm and central locking systems are activated? (ie it won't by just manually unlocking the door)?
2 My interior roof lights don't work at all. I have checked the bulbs and the filaments - they are all ok and there's no corrosion to the bulb holder. Is this in some way connected to the alarm system at all? (which is de-commissioned on my car).
3 Think I read somewhere that the alarm system drains the battery on Spiders. Is this correct? If so am I better just leaving all of the above well alone and just live with the window catching slightly on the roofline when I open my car door?
Sorry for all the questions. I LOVE
my wee car. She's a wee project - getting bits done a wee bit at a time. Still got some cosmetic stuff to sort and now down to just the wee niggly mechanical and electrical things, but driving her is so much fun. Haven't seen any others near me on the road either - rare as hen's teeth up here!
