Problem number 3.... Idling too high!
They all come in 3s!
If anyone remembers I couldn't disarm the alarm, possible key or receiver.
Got the AA out, all he could do was disconnect it. I didn't have a little key that you can use to disable the alarm on the side of the siren, so he detached the thin cable to the back of it, the fat cable keeps the power going to it so everything works. Apparently removing the thin cable does the same as the key. So now I have no alarm, and I have to use the key in the door to open central locking but at least I can use my spider
I also had a leaking cam cover gasket which I changed today, he pointed it out to me, it had been dripping on a radiator pipe, and making the rubber soft.. I caugh it in time.
Now here's my new problem... just before the alarm problem when you first started it and pull it off it was like it would suddenly idle too low and feel like it might stall just for a moment. And also hesitant on acceleration some times
But then it started idling too high... Around 2000revs! Which is what it was like this morning
Today after the cam cover gasket I cleaned out the throttle body flap bit with carb cleaner... I didn't have he right torx key to get the maf sensor off properly but got some carb cleaner in the top of the housing bit for it...
But now it idles at 2 then just keeps on reving up to 2.5 then dropping back to 2... Repeatedly.
Could this be a faulty maf? It's all I can think with my limited knowledge
Any other thoughts?
Help would be amazing. Thanks all
