Ever since I bought my GTV I've never been happy with the back end suspension. On the straight and cornering on a smother surface are fine, but if you hit a pot hole on just one side, even at 30, the back of the car feels like it's diving off to one side and not just bouncing up and down.
I only use the car twice a week and every time I come back to it I think "this don't feel right". Today was a serious attempt to get to the bottom of the problem with no success.
The whole of the back has been powerfexed (before I got it) and they still look good with no play with the suspension of and on load.
I removed the dampers expecting to find on of the goosed but they have plenty of resistance going up and down. (all my weight on them for a slow contraction)
I removed the drop link to find no play and they are still Farley tight (cars got 50K on it).
No cracked springs or anything that appears to have play or be bent worn or anything that it should not be as it should.
Never thought I'd be ****ed off not to find something wrong! The only area of concern was the springs on both sides. When the car sits on the level the top four coils are compressed to a level where they are pretty well touching. Can some one confirm if theirs look the same?
Apart from that I open (desperate!) for any more ideas, or I'm I looking for a problem that does not exist and this is just the way it is???
PS No clonks bangs etc when driving and the toe in/out rods have no play or does the ball joint at the end of the top wish bone.
