Working through my problems......!
Well, what can I say. I have had my Ph2 now for 4 weeks and it's been interesting to say the least!
I have spent many hours on here searching for easy fixes, and have achieved a few!
Current problems - drivers door window does not open and is poorly positioned. Passengers door window does work correctly, with the exception of the auto drop. Heated rear screen does not work, based on the fact that the fuse has been removed at some point. The alarm system has had the wires chopped. This doesn't really matter as the remote central locking keys have been lost. (I do believe it has this function, correct me if I am wrong!) so it looks like I need to replace the entire system. Wheel alignment is miles out but thankfully the bushes are solid at the minute, they will be getting replaced. Boot seal is torn and the boot carpet is damp. The front bumper M10 bolts are seized on solid! Airbag warning light! Drivers side B pillar door seals missing. Many areas of small lacquer peel and surface scratching. Cracked front bumper above the sidelights (plastic light cover missing).
Solved issues - side lights and interior lights sorted. Helps when there is a relay fitted in the correct slot! Bonnet gap is now lined up. The engine can now breathe correctly as I have replaced the intake hose that was held on with gaffa tape. Both rear brake calipers have been removed, cleaned and freed up. The interior is immaculate now as it's all been removed, carpets scrubbed and treated, seats scrubbed and leather treated. Oil and gearbox oil change this weekend. 69k miles so cambelt change being booked in at an Alfa specialist.
Having wanted an Alfa for years I now understand the pleasure of owning one. I think this project is going to be a labour of love as the car has not been looked after at all. I am really looking forwards to getting these issues sorted and getting this car back to what it should be.
