Re: Code light on GTV TS
This is how I see it..............
As suggested I recomend wiggling ALL the wires around (in/ behind/above) the fuse box and behind the steering. If that does not work change the ariel loop. Always do this before looking at expensive fixes like changing the code box and or ECU. The above approach will likely solve it nine out of ten times. The code system is either not picking up the key because the ariel is poor (or poorly connected) or there is some interfearence coming from some other (close by) source (hence wire wiggles to solve/disturb/change it).
There are many variations on this theme. eg. adjusting the steering column up and down, fiddling with the electrics in random ways, remaking all the 'push in' connectors , pulling relays in and out etc etc . In my view they mostly relate to the same thing. ie trying to disturb an interfearance source such that it no longer interacts with the code/key transmissions via the ariel.
Not sure about the battery disconnect routine? but it might conceivably reset some random piece of electrical kit that is generating an interfearance signal.?
All very un-scientic but known to work more often than not.
