I feel that I get too much compression and rebound from my suspension. I do not drive near potholes, but when slowing down and going over speed bumps I can feel the stiffness in the suspension. Currently my front suspension is set at 90 degrees from the softest setting (1/4 turn) which I feel can be stiffened up some more. I would like to maintain the current balance that I have. So naturally the rear will need to go firmer. My reasons for requesting is that with the rear in this current state, I can still feel movement especially under hard acceleration where the nose raises and the rear end dips.
Could I ask the question differently: When setting up for track racing, how far would you stiffen up the front and rear before you start losing out?
What I've highlighted in bold is what I would say is caused by your -45mm Eibach springs.
You can adjust the fronts harder for more rebound damping & at the same time you could adjust the rears to full hard...even try softer...you might find you get more grip/feel? I'd start with the fronts 1st as they're easy, but you'll have to go & try it to see if it's to your taste. Maybe a decent set of coil-overs might be better?
As for when does it break away....trial & error.
Track racing is far removed from fast road driving, although plenty think differently. Also different tracks, driving styles etc etc determine how to set a car up....there's no magic answer/formula....although the theorists may not agree.
As others will no doubt point out, I'm no suspension guru but I've raced motorbikes & cars(not GTVs) + I've got more V6 GTVs than anyone else I know of & had/have many different suspension set ups. I find they handle better softer but on a smooth race track I'm sure I'd stiffen them up quite a bit.
Perhaps it would be better if we enjoyed these cars for what they are, accept their limitations....even with improvements/upgrades, rather than try to make them something they're not? There's plenty of cars available that can out perform/handle a V6 GTV but few look &/or sound half as good, IMO.
Try not to put this GTV on it's roof like your last one
.....you did say in your 1st post: The car is used mainly for sweeping mountain passes over weekends when I act like a hooligan
