gtv 916 front shocks and springs
Just recently purchased a 1998 3 litre v6 916 coupe.
Wanting to improve the very harsh front end i went out and purchased Koni yellows for the front and rear.
(Originals were old Koni yellow on the front and OEM on the rear)
I've fitted them along with new bump stops on the front, with refitting the original springs.
The ride is still very firm and less impact sound (crashy) on the front end.
Took the Alfa for a wheel alignment and two observations were raised. Firstly the spring was leaning to one side in the shock, and the shock compressed to the bump stop, when the car is sitting on its on weight on the ground. see pics attached
Can any tell me if this is normal?
Had a look at a 2l twin spark as a comparison with stock front end and the springs were 0.5 bigger (13.3mm) in wire size diameter than the 3 litre (12.8mm)
